Objective: To evaluate the depression, pain and quality of life(QOL) and factors influencing them; to disclosure the impact of treatment of pain and depression on improving Qol. Methods: Cancer patients coming from communities of Shanghai enrolled by cluster sampling method completed the questionnaires, which were ZUNG, FACT-G and NRS to evaluate depression, Qol and pain. Results: The incidence of depression and pain were 24.1% and 17.4%. which were much lower than those of inpatients. Pain, depression,family income, educational level, occupation, awareness of diagnosis, exercise and medical cost would layed an important role in the quality of life of community cancer patients. Awareness of disease made different influence on community patients and inpatients.Treatment of pain and depression would improve patients' Qol significantly. Conclusion : Questionnaire of FACT-G had good reliability and validity to evaluate QOL of cancer patients. There existed difference of pain, depression and Qol between community cancer patients and inpatients. In different period of disease, the awareness of diagnosis was not the same; Qol would be improved greatly if the depression and pain were controlled successfully.
