XiaoLiu Decoction is a common recipe of my mentor Jiao Zhonghua to treat non-smallcell lung cancer. It has been observed safe and effective in clinic. The purpose of this study is to discuss its action mechanism from the point of view of modern medicine, starting with clinical and experimental study, utilizing modern experimental technology.Clinical study: The action characteristic and clinical effect of XiaoLiu Decoction has been observed from multi-aspect. As a result, XiaoLiu Decoction can boost up immunity of patients, and antagonize the injury of chemotherapeutical to cellular immunity; reduce the blood viscosity of patients; release and stabilize the focus; improve the symptoms; increase the living quality ;prolong the survival time of patients;alleviate the toxicity and side effect of chemotherapy. The recipe has no obvious toxicity and side effect, the curative effect of which superior to single chemotherapy.Experimental study:XiaoLiu Decoction's curative effect of inhibiting the growth of local tumor and restraining transfer has been observed by animal experiment. Lewis lung cancer and H22 liver cancer(ascites type) rats have been used in the experiment as models. As a result, XiaoLiu Decoction can distinctly inhibit the growth of local tumor, and presence the relation of quantity to potency;can evidently restrain spontaneous and experimental lung transfer,;can markedly cut down the number of tumor tissue tiny vessel and the VEGF expression of tumor cell;can improve the activity of NK cell in loading tumor rats and protect immunity organs of loading tumor rats.It can increase potency and decrease toxicity combinated with chemotherapy. The alteration and expression of cell...
