| Objective: To observe multi-effects of Huoxue chengqi decoction on acute bacterial peritonitis in order to verify that Huoxue huayu herbs can enhance the effects of Tongli gongxia herbs. Methods: Animal model of acute bacterial peritonitis was established with cecal ligation plus puncture (CLP), and observe the histomorphologic change of organs treated by Huoxue chengqi decoction. Moreover, blood samples were obtained for detection of endotoxin, cytokines, SOD. At the same time, investigate the influence of Huoxue chengqi decoction on the ability of absorption and bleeding of peritoneum, intestinal permeability, blood flow in microcirculation of intestinal tissues. Results: Treated with Huoxue chengqi decoction, plasma endotoxin and serum cytokines were all decreased, and serum SOD was increased. It also can increase absorption and decrease bleeding to albumin of abdominal cavity in peritonitis condition, decrease permeability of intestinal mucosa, increase blood flow in microcirculation of intestinal tissues in some degree. Conclusion: Acute bacterial peritonitis can be treated by Huoxue chengqi decoction, and Huoxue huayu herbs can enhance effects of Tongli gongxia herbs when acute bacterial peritonitis occur. |
