Non-commercial forest is crucial in the development of Beijing's forestry. Hence, the emergent problem of the development in Beijing's forestry is to manage non-commercial forest scientifically and so as to improve its quality and comprehensive benefit. Management type classification of non- commercial forest is an important basic work in forest management. It is the key part in compiling management plan of non-commercial forest. The design and implement of measures is affected derectly. However, for a long time, there is no clear management type classification system in Beijing. Just classify management type according to species, target, and policy. And sometimes the management type and management measure type is confused. Therefore, it is necessary to study how to classify management type of non-commercial forest scientifically and set down management measure accordingly. This thesis used the data of"tenth five"forest resources inventory in Beijing as a basis to find out the state of non-commercial forest in Haidian, Pinggu, and Yanqing County. After some field work, correlated statistic, and discussion of some experts was done, the definition of grade of forest categories was put forward at the very first time. Then the idea, principles, basis of management type classification and naming method of management type was fixed on. Finally, five-grade system in classification of non-commercial forest was formed. At last, the key points of structure regulation, management target, management measure, and et al. of non-commercial forest was clarified preliminarily.1. The characteristic of non-commercial forest in Haidian, Pinggu, and Yanqing County is rare forest types, monotonic species, low biomass per unit, weak ecological effect, heavy task in constructing non-commercial forest, mainly distribute in mountainous, illogical age structure, and high proportion of young and middle-aged trees.2. In the forest classification, according to the main function and management direction & target, forest is classified as three types, including first-forest species, second-forest species, and third-forest species, which is defined as grade of forest categories.3. Set guiding ideologies of management type classification of non-commercial forest which are: taken sustainable forest management theory as a guide; classified management type of non-commercial forest scientifically; put and adjust management measure to local condition; fasten cilviculture of forest resources; established non-commercial forest system with reasonable structure, optimal function, and stable productivity; and played best social, economical, and ecological effects. Obey the principles of scientific, normal, motivated, and maneuverable. Follow the rule of integrative, systematic, significant of difference, and adaptable. Finally the 4 indices of management type classification of non-commercial forest were put forward as origin, species (group), site, management target.4. The management type classification of non-commercial forest is mainly against forest land, other forest land types are not included. There are 8804 subplots which belong to 9 species (groups), 28 site types, 3 origins, and 14 third-classes forest types. Finally, management types of non-commercial forest were classified by five steps, and formed five-grade system in classification of non-commercial forest. At last, a table of five-grade classification system was complied, including 591, 513, 213, 194, and 76 management types respectively.5. The name of management types was given according to the origin, species (group), site, management target. The specific naming method is origin plus species (group) plus site plus management target. If the proportion of two species (group) is the same, then the name should be after the main or precious species (group). If the management type was not classified, then name it just after management target.6. The management types of non-commercial forest is not changing with time, while different management measures should be taken in different development phases of trees and also should be varied according to different management targets. The management type will be changed only if one of the 4 indices which was the basis for management type classification is changed.7. The priority order of forest types is Soil and Water Conservation Forest, Scenic Forest, water conservation forest, environmental protection forest, Windbreak and Sand-Fixation Forest, and farmland shelterbelt. This is taken as a basis to form judgment matrix by analytic hierarchy processing, and finally to optimize the proportion of each forest types by mathematic method.8. The management target and reasonable stand structure of every forest types were put forward in this thesis, in order to achieve the best social, economic, and ecological effects.9. The management measure types of non-commercial forest was classified into 9 categories, including improving low yield and inefficient stands, tending of young stand, intermediate cutting, replanting, closing forest, economic utilization, specific management, harvest utilization, and management & conservation. Management measures were set down for the fifth step management type of non-commercial forest in this thesis, in order to take specific management measures according to different management types. The conclusion is accord with the reality in Haidian, Pinggu, and Yanqing County. It can not only provide theoretical and technical support for compiling non-commercial forest management plan, building sustainable forest management experiments, and assessing & evaluate effects; but also can shed light on the scientific management, so as to promote the quality and comprehensive benefit of non-commercial forest.
