Externally prestressed box girder bridge with corrugated webs is an externally prestressed composite structure using corrugated steel board as its webs. Comparing with traditional prestressed concrete box girder, this structure has advantages of light weight, high prestress efficiency and good endurance. In recent years, this structure is regarded and rapidly developed in our country. Until now, several small span bridges have been built in China, which are simply supported beam and continuous beam. Several more are under construction or design and their span is attending to be longer. Research achievements of this structure are collected and summarized. Structural kernels and calculating methods are induced.Externally prestressed box girder with corrugated webs is studied by experiment and FEA method. Three experimental beams with 3 types of deviators were produced and deviating experiments were conducted on them. During experiments, deviators were loaded to damage by externally prestressed tendon. In experiments, damage forms were observed, strain data of experimental beams and deviators were collected, and loading capacities of deviators were achieved. In FEA research, whole beam models ignoring material nonlinear and local deviator models including material nonlinear were created in order to improve calculation convergence and decrease cost. Local influence of beams caused by deviators and contact pressure between external tendon and deviator tube were studied in whole beam models. Mechanical behaviors and damage forms of deviators were studied in local deviator models. The FEA results in good agreement with the experimental results, and were tested to be correct. According to the results of FEA and experiments, structural kernels, design theory and practical calculating methods of the 3 types of deviators were proposed.PBL connector and corrugated reinforcement connector are studied by experiment and FEA method for their structure and mechanical characters. 14 specimens of 2 types of connectors were produced and were tested by push-out experiments. Loading procedures of the 2 types of connectors were studied by FEA method. Mechanical characters of slide and loading capacity were achieved. According to the results of FEA and experiments, structural kernels design theory and practical calculating methods of the 2 types of connectors were proposed.Results of this paper may be referred for design of externally prestressed box girder bridge with corrugated webs.
