Large equipment products are often applied in iron-steel, chemistry, ship, aviation, engineering machinery, which is very important for the development of manufacturing and national defense. Large equipment is one kind of special product with large size and complex, which of characteristics is mainly that production process is very complicated, the machines for producing products are special and there are close relations between the machines and every stage of product life cycle. These characteristics make the operation of production process and machines very difficult to be optimized, and to meet the demands of rapid changes of markets, which is the hard problem faced by the large equipment manufacturing. Therefore, the production machine integration operating mode for product life cycle of large equipment is studied in this paper, which aids to improve the operational efficiency of production machine and production process of large equipment.Firstly, the characteristics of large equipment product life cycle and production machine are respectively analyzed. Based on it, the close relations between the machines and product life cycle of large equipment is presented, which means the information of production machines need to be provided to the every stage of product life cycle from product preparation process, product design, process planning, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and remanufacturing.On the basis of the above relation properties between product machine and product life cycle, and aiming at various complex situations of production processes of large equipment product, the production machine integration operating mode for product life cycle of large equipment is proposed. The framework consists of the objective level, the production process business level, the product life cycle mainline level and the support system level. The main innovation of the mode is that it integrates the production machines with product life cycle mainline on the support of relative technologies, which of objectives are to achieve the goals of the objective level. On this basis, the architecture of each level is studied.Some key technologies have been studied according to the above production machine integration operating mode. Firstly, the holistic structure of the support system level has been presented with the information interaction mainline, and then, the support system is structured by two main sub-systems, which are the equipment information interaction platform and the equipment integrated support system. Secondly, the two sub-systems have been constructed respectively. The structure of the former is on the basis of the information collection terminal systems, and one of the latter is based on the Web service. Finally, the collection method of the machining progress information of large-size workpiece, which is one kind of very important information, has been proposed by using the power information of the machine tool's main transmission system.The research achievement and related support technologies have been implemented in the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Machinery Manufacturing Company, and achieves good effect.
