As the important component of energy control centers, the interaction systems which contain human-computer interaction and human-human interaction plays a decisive role in the operators' daily work. A good interaction system can protects the system's economy, stability and security by enhancing the operators' efficiency of analyzing and resolving problems. On the contrary, the interaction system with unreasonable designing will reduce the operators' efficiency. Moreover, the system's economy, stability and security would be affected indirectly.With the interconnection and continuous expansion of the power system, there is more information need to be monitored. In many cases, the existing interaction technologies can not support completing the tasks very well. In order to reduce the operators' burden and improve the work efficiency, advanced computer technologies should be used fully to improve the interaction systems of the control centers. In this paper, related technologies of the control centers' interaction systems are studied.First,.the output side of human-computer interaction is explored. Correlated multi-screen display as a new idea is put forward. The crucial attribute correlativity is classed into four sorts according to the actual contents which need to be displayed and operators' operating requires. On the basis of the correlativity classification, the correlated multi-screen display system can be established for the specific problems. And also, both of the hardware and software realization principles are discussed.Subsequently, the theory of input side is studied. At fist, three factors (operating efficiency, cognitive load, naturalness) for designing the human-computer interaction of EMS are presented. On the basis of these factors, six design rules for designing the input side are proposed. These rules demand balancing these factors and providing a satisfying input environment; improving the entire input ability of human-computer interface by cooperating each input tools and the use of new algorithm. These rules can guide to design the new input side of human-computer interaction.On the basis of the input side design rules, the input side which is the relatively weak side of the current EMS's human-computer interaction is further studied. Through analyzing the input side of human-computer interaction and comparing the characteristics of several usual tools, a new idea that utilizing speech with mouse and keyboard is presented. In the improved human- computer interface, the operation tasks are assigned to speech recognition, mouse and keyboard. Compared to the traditional human-computer interface, the improved one has more operational efficiency, better flexibility and output capability.An operator multi communication medium interaction platform is established, which is based on the internet for improving human-human interaction of the control centers. It includes two subsystems: instant communication system and information issuing and query system. Then their principles and realizations are discussed. Compared with telephone, this platform can save process of information, avoid shielding information, serve for multiple operators communicating simultaneity, offers many communication methods and so on.Based on the research of the related technologies before, the interaction system is explored. At first, a new interaction system of control centers is presented, which contains human-computer interaction and human-human interaction. Also, the integration design is presented in order to optimize the integration and coordination of all interaction system's parts.Finally, the human-computer interaction design concept is discussed. According to the characteristic of the control centers' human-computer interaction, through further analysis of the intrinsic relationship between the operators and system, the relation between human-computer interaction's design demands of the operators and system is known. The design concept "system-centric" is proposed and conducted at the end.In conclusion, this paper studies on the interaction system of energy control centers, in theory, correlated multi-screen display and the input side's design rules are put forward; speech recognition is introduced to add to the traditional input side; operators interaction system based on the internet is designed in order to improve the ability of human-human interaction; a new interaction system are proposed; the design concept of human-computer interaction is discussed. The research of this can provide theory basis and technology support when designing the interaction system of control centers.This research work is supported by the National Nature Science Foundation of China under Grant 50577002.
