The core of this dissertation is integration concept, which is an experiment of opening gathers artificially and reorganizing ("拆合做作") on theory, practice, system, and knowledge on urban design. The concept of integration adapt for contemporary city that is of great diversity vitality and comprehensiveness. The development of contemporary city has a close relationship with economic growth. Process of pluralism is optimizing, complimenting, efficiency maximizing. The city form reflects the citizens'demand, that is the materialized by pluralism. The human society deals with ecological problems exigently. The aim of integration is to form pluralism and organic order, and to make cities more efficient, more human, and more ecologic. Also, integration seeks dynamic, purgative and stretch balance in cities'development. It organizes variation factors regularly, carrying planning process with multi-angles methods.This dissertation is based on comparison and summarization of contemporary theories on urban design and its integrative practices methods. Through out analysis on real problems in urban design, cooperation with integration philosophy, this dissertation consummates the profound standard of urban design evaluation—integrative degree criterion of urban space, and puts forward the integrative operational system of urban design.Knowledge compatible then collective, framework leading then clear, thought expands then innovates, methods superimpose then interactive. The author brings forward eight breakthrough points about theory and practice in future urban design so as to encourage mutually with craft brother.1. Value pluralism based on ecology.2.
