With the acceleration of China's urbanization, the scope of urban area is also explored. Urban landscape, as an important impact factor on the quality of urban life, has been paid much attention to by citizens, governments and construction enterprises. Meanwhile, the issue that many cities follow some similar models of "internationalization phenomenon" degrades local customs and regional features. This trend should be pertinently analyzed and answered by researchers.Based on the current situation and academic proceedings, this research puts forward the concept of "network system of urban landscape". It is combined from international and domestic practice and theories. This study introspects and analyzes each level of urban landscape including landscape elements and its intrinsic regulation. There is a key idea in this study, i.e. network analysis. It means that urban landscape comprises some spots and regions and is a dynamic system. Firstly, it means the connection of spots and the integration structure of dot-axis-face. Secondly, it means the changing of landscape elements, contents and types, called a dynamic process. With this concept, all of them can be regarded as a complex network unit, no matter one garden, one block, one city, even on region. In addition, this system takes the concepts of "nature", "land feature", "local customs" into itself in order to break the limit of landscape ecology and garden design. It is possible to observe and examine the intrinsic regulation of urban landscape. Therefore, this methodology has much originality and creativity. It is notable that urban landscape is a quite complicated system. Since the current level of this research is at a stage of preliminary discussion, it is inadvisable to propose a set of general framework containing everything. The main goal is to explicit the urban landscape system with macroscopic and microcosmic viewpoints by a case study of Hangzhou City construction. It is an open structure to induce relatively general characteristics and rules, in order to support current and future research in urban landscape and construction of local features.
