High pressure cleaning vehicle was a type of specialty vehicle for road surface cleaning, maintenance and environmental protection. Researches showed that there were many problems of domestic high pressure cleaning vehicles. The most important problem was: there was no basis for the selecting of cleaning parameters. The selection of cleaning parameters only depended on the designers'experience and there was no related national standard for reference. Thus, whether the cleaning parameters were suitable to the cleaning was not known, and the cleaning ability of the vehicle could not be fully excavated. Therefore, this paper put forward the studying of the relationships between the cleaning related parameters and the cleaning effectiveness and its optimization. The fully use of the waterjets cleaning ability and cleaning parameters optimization were very significant to the improving of cleaning production rate, cleaning effectiveness, saving energy and water resources.Two kinds of parameters affecting waterjets cleaning quality: nozzle related parameters and process related parameters were studied. Firstly, the influence of nozzle inner structure to the cleaning performance was studied using numerical simulation, and improvement was made to the structure. Secondly, the influence of process related parameters to the cleaning performance was studied. Experiments were conducted for the study of the relationship between parameters and performance. A relationship model was built and prediction was made, and the cleaning optimization was performed.
