in manufactory industry, the design and manufacture capabilities of mold have direct influence on the quality control and delivery capability of final products. By this way they shed heavy influence on the national economy. However, because of the complication of the technologies and the process control of mold manufacturing, the domestic mold industry is confronted with several problems, such as: manufacture resource wasting is serious; for the absence of concurrent mechanism, process control in series is wasting too much time; the design and manufacturing of mold are so experience relied that they have led to the difficulty of quality control; the planned economy mechanism of the past and unreasonable business competition are also hindering the quality control and technology renovation of the mold industry. For the reasons stated above, on the basis of Multi-Agent technology, concurrent engineering, Internet and Intranet technologies, and as the extension of conventional cell manufacturing systems, a distributed mold manufacturing system 棗 D_CMES is studied and developed. The distributed architecture of D_CMES can enable and enhance the communication among mold customers and suppliers, In this architecture the sharing of technologies and manufacturing resources between enterprises is enabled. This convenience can overcome most design and manufacture limitations of any single enterprise, In D_CMES, ideas of concurrent engineering are applied to realize concurrent control in production preparation, design, and manufacturing processes, which can shorten the production cycle greatly and reinforce the system抯 quick reaction capability. The paper laid its emphases on the study of the basic theories and implementation schemes of D CMES?key technologies. An application of production management and control subsystem - JC_CMES is developed and applied to daily use. As a concurrent manufacture execution system and one of the most important subsystems of JC_CIMS which has just gained the Jiangsu Province Advanced Technology No.1 Prize and been appraised as one of the leading systems in motorcycle manufacturing field in the world, JC_CMES has passed the examination of expert teams from the CIMS subject and concurrent engineering subject of the National?63?High Tech. Scheme, and is highly evaluated by information experts and the customer of Jincheng CO. Limited.
