With the rapid development of China's economy, landscape architecture industry is gradually showing a thriving prosperity. However, China's stepping into the aging society in 1990 and holding the 2008 Paralympic Games become two landmarks of it. Excepting focus on the growth of economic and the development of science and technology, more and more landscape architects, like many other industries, begin to speculate how landscape design should do to deal with the coming aging, how to pay attention to the disabled and vulnerable groups and how to learn from the excellent Western landscape designs and inherit and carry forward the Chinese traditional landscape features and essence at the same time.For modern China, the development of modern medicine and that of modern landscape have similar experiences and embarrassment. Being inherited thousands of years, Chinese traditional medicine, under the influence and competition of modern Western medicine, has once almost disappeared from people's life. Similarly, with several thousand years of history, the traditional Chinese landscape almost becomes the relics in the museum under the influence of modern Western landscape represented by New York Central Park. Facing with this situation, the Chinese landscape architects continue to explore and attempt for the traditional Chinese landscape to spring to life. This article tries to analysis and trace to the source of the healing landscape, a conjunction point of medical science and landscape, to find some ideas and directions solve problems.The healing landscape does not appear occasionally. It embodies people's pursuit of health and beautiful life. To both East and West, the gardens represent a kind of yearning and expectation of ideal life. The aims of landscape and medical science are so consistent that it is only a matter of time for healing landscape to appear. Through the analysis of the origin of landscape and medical science, as well as the comparative between Eastern and Western culture and philosophy, this essay, combined with the development of medical science and landscape, elaborates the cause and effect for landscape, medical science, and healing landscape to emerge.Through the analysis and introduction of the examples of the healing landscape in Western modern medical institutions, and the introduction of the influence of sensory experience on landscape and medical science, this article tries to provide some useful exploration and research directions for the rebirth of traditional Chinese landscape and the development of modern Chinese landscape architecture.
