The scientization and systemization of new product development processes and integration of chemical product design and process development are now becoming a new advanced aspect of chemical engineering. As a result, in this article, the research goals are as following: (1) Chemical products design and process development are studied to establish the theoretical and method of process information integration. (2)A Kilo-Plant is built up to realize the integration of process product engineering and process engineering. (3) Integration strategy of products engineering and process engineering development are achieved. In chemical process engineering, to carry out the information integration and establishing the system of product development in a network environment, the principal step is to implement the data integration among different process operation systems by establishing uniform formation of data description. But it is difficult to achieve this step in process industry due to the complexity of data structures and their relation. In this paper, a data integration model is proposed based on STEP/XML schema. In the model, the standard interface is provided to access certain product data with STEP formation, and the XML description of STEP files is implemented. As a result, different process operation systems can communicate information with XML formation. To realize the information integration in different sub-systems, several mission integration are compared and a technical frame of web service is brought out. A task integration model is proposed based on the comparison between web-service frame and traditional integration frame. And detailed description of the function, characteristic and key components of the integration frame are also described in this article. This description can assure the consistency and reliability of data which communicate among network product operation systems.Traditional chemical process design set their goal on low-cost and high efficiency, but modern product design aims at how to fix the function of the product with the market demand. In this paper, the integration strategies of chemical product and process design not only are brought out, but also applied in a Kilo-Plant, as a product experiment platform. The Kilo-Plant consists of a series of functional operation units, which are assembled according to production flow process. Besides, the application of process system information integration in the chemical product design, process operation scheme design, safety monitoring, and process integration analysis are studied. Based on the proposed data integration model and a frame of the SOA system task integration, a web service with real-time optimization platform is established. A discussion on how to translate the computer assistant operation system to web service system and the relation and cooperation between every web services is conducted. The SOAP information exchange between each web service is solved. And a optimized control platform based on web service is established which integrates some special software, such as Matlab,G2,GAMS. The platform integrates optimized control and product development system with the application of OPC, CARBA, and database. Optimized product development process based on model, fault diagnosis is carried out. And product quality modeling based on real time data regression analysis is applied in the Kilo-plant. Through the application of process optimization control in Kilo-Plant, the validity and applicability of the platform is testified, which, as a result, testifies the validity of the web service based information integration of chemical process operation system.
