The paper puts forward a mobile map representation shape suiting to the user requirements and hardware condition in LBS service domain, studies "current-demand instant cartography"scheme based on the space cognitive principle and usability theory of map design, namely the geography informations with big cognitive importance to mobile user are extracted from space database,and displayed in "satisfying user cognitive demands as well as according with mobile terminal resource".The paper focuses on the map design problem of LBS navigation service.the thesis brings forward that placenames can be used for route navigation landmarks according to the toponym's characteristic and researches the principle and method of toponym cognitive ranking partition, and visualizes the map content by the toponym's ranking.In order to satisfy the user cognitive demands,the simplification map are used to provide the whole route information which includes only simplification route and the landmarks on the way,and the map display contents are visualized depending on the placename's ranking;the paper also studies the different simplify principles from traditional map synthesis,that is ,releases the veracities of route geometry elements such as length and angle for the sake that the relative user's task cognitive informations are displayed with clarity and legible on the limited screen;researches on the route simplify algorithms that preserving the topology-coherence.the paper exploits the application software for LBS navigation service.Based on the application characteristic of mobile terminal and mobile user,the paper studies the new thought and algorithm of navigation map design for the LBS service.This paper possesses utility value in LBS navigation service because it resolves the contradiction of map data and screen size and adapts to the mobile condition traits.
