Yuanmou Arid-hot Valley is located in Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province, southwest in China. The ecological environment is badly fragility. It is one of the most difficult areas of vegetation restoration, and much ecological restoration research is done. In this paper, arthropod communities are studied in different ecosystems in Yuanmou Arid-hot Valley. Experimental fields include 7 plantation forests, which composed by 10 Pinus yunnanensis, 10 Eucalyptus spp., 10 Leucaena leucocephala, 7 Leucaena leucocephala 3 Eucalyptus spp., 10 Azadirachta indica, 5 Eucalyptus spp. 5 Azadirachta indica, and mixed plantation forest. Besides, 3 natural ecosystems including Dichotomanthus tristaniaecarpa-Vitex negundo forest, Phyllanthus emblica-Dodonaea angustifolia forest, and Dodonaea angustifolia-Heteropogonetea contortus scrub and grass clump. The species diversity is investigated and its list is made. Arthropods specimens are collected by sweep netting and pitfall trapping. Species abundance, dominant species, species diversity and its spatio-temporal dynamics of arthropod communities are compared in different ecosystems. Species richness S, Shannon-Wiener index, Simpson index, Pielou evenness index and Jaccard similarity coefficent are used in the biodiversity research. Relationship between vegetation community species richness and arthropod community species richness or their functional groups species richness is discussed in different ecosystems by multitude linear regression analysis and ANOVA. Influence on biodiversity is researched by human disturbance in Yuanmou Arid-hot Valley. Primary evaluation on ecological restoration is done in Yuanmou Arid-hot Valley by using diversity of arthropod communities and bioindicators. The results are as follows:1,751 species belonging to 4 classes, 23 orders, 180 families are reported in Yuanmou Arid-hot Valley. Among them, 470 are identified, of which 439 newly distributing in Yuanmou, 72 newly recorded in Yunnan, 3 newly recorded in China, 1 male newly discovered, and 3 new species waiting to report.
