Evaluation Of The Clinical Efficacy Of External Application Of Furong Ointment In The Treatment Of Acute Mastitis During Lactatio

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Hibiscus ointment applied externally in the treatment of lumpy stage of lactation mastitis.Methods:Forty-nine patients with lactating mastitis who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups:25 patients in the experimental group and 24 patients in the control group,and the patients in the experimental group were treated with topical application of Hibiscus ointment and the patients in the control group were treated with topical application of Ruyi Jinhuang ointment,and the information of relevant symptoms and signs were collected before and on the 1st,2nd and 3rd days of treatment,respectively,and log cards were filled in.And the patients were followed up on the 7th day of treatment to observe the recurrence.By observing the changes in the extent of breast skin redness and swelling,the extent of localized breast lumps,VAS pain score,localized breast condition score,concomitant symptom score,and systemic symptom score in each group,the SPSS25.0 software system was used for statistical analysis to compare the treatment situation within and between groups.Results:(1)In terms of breast lumps:both Hibiscus ointment and Ruyi Jinhuang ointment were able to shrink breast lumps,and on the 2nd and 3rd day of treatment,Hibiscus cream was more effective than Ruyi Jinhuang cream in shrinking breast lumps,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)In terms of breast pain and milk flow:both Hibiscus ointmen and Ruyi Jinhuang ointmen could relieve breast pain and smooth milk flow,and the effect of Hibiscus ointmen in relieving breast pain and smooth milk flow was better than Ruyi Jinhuang ointmen on the third day of treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)In terms of the extent of skin redness and swelling and skin burning:when comparing within groups,both Hibiscus ointment and Ruyi Jinhuang ointment were able to reduce the extent of skin redness and swelling and relieve skin burning in the breast,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,when comparing between groups,it could not be considered that Hibiscus ointment was more effective than Ruyi Jinhuang ointment in reducing the extent of redness and swelling of breast skin and relieving skin burning,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).(4)In terms of healing time:the healing time of the Hibiscus ointment group was shorter and the healing rate was higher than that of the Ruyi Jinhuang ointment group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)In terms of systemic concomitant symptoms:Hibiscus ointment and Ruyi Jinhuang ointment could not be considered effective in relieving concomitant symptoms(chest tightness,tachypnea,depression,mouth bitterness,irritability)yet(P>0.05).(6)During the treatment,two cases of allergy occurred in the control group.Conclusion:The results of this clinical trial showed that Hibiscus ointment was superior in reducing the extent of lumps,relieving breast pain,and allowing milk to flow freely compared with Ruyi Jinhuang ointment,and significantly shortened the healing time.Hibiscus ointment was able to significantly reduce the extent of breast skin redness and swelling and relieve skin burning.From the results of this experiment,Hibiscus ointment is safe,effective and has a greater clinical promotion value.
