Purpose: Guizhi Decoction is derived from Zhang Zhongjing’s treatise on febrile diseases.Doctors of all dynasties have their own views on its theory,method,prescription and medicine.This paper widely collects relevant literature at home and abroad,combs the similarities and differences of ancient and modern doctors’ understanding of its prescriptions and syndromes,and summarizes its syndrome treatment characteristics and clinical application rules,in order to provide reference for clinical application and research.Methods: It mainly adopts documentary research methods such as induction and summary.Summarize the application of Guizhi Decoction in Zhang Zhongjing’s treatise on Febrile Diseases and synopsis of the golden chamber;And take AI Rusheng’s "classic sea of traditional Chinese medicine"(preliminary collection,local version)as the retrieval tool to screen the relevant literature on the research and use of Guizhi Decoction by domestic doctors of previous dynasties,and analyze its syndrome and treatment characteristics in combination with the relevant discussions of some Japanese Chinese doctors;Collect the clinical application medical records of Guizhi Decoction in academic journal database in recent 10 years,and summarize its modern clinical application law by frequency analysis.Results:First,Through the textual research on the origin and development of Guizhi Decoction,it is found that Zhang Zhongjing’s use of Guizhi Decoction involves internal injury,spontaneous sweating and women’s evil obstruction of pregnancy in addition to treating external symptoms.In addition to the exterior syndrome,soft spasm,cold hernia and other external syndromes,the internal syndrome also involves the diseases of Shaoyang,Taiyin and Jueyin,as well as miscellaneous diseases such as asthenia,blood arthralgia,yellow sweat,water drinking disease and so on.Later generations expanded the clinical application scope of Guizhi Decoction,mainly focusing on its adaptation to season,region and people’s physique.Its flexible application is not only used for external syndromes such as malaria,wind disease and rheumatism,but also for internal syndromes such as abdominal pain,diarrhea,pox rash,wind cold and dampness arthralgia,stroke and partial withering,and women’s menstrual diseases.Guizhi Decoction should be a tonic.For its specific medication,although it is verified that the Guizhi used by Zhongjing at that time is today’s cinnamon and the peony is today’s red peony,it is not necessary to restore the ancient prescription and live the method in the presence of evidence.Second,The diseases treated by Zhongjing with Guizhi Decoction were mostly caused by exogenous wind cold or weakness of spleen and stomach,The location of headache,fever,sweating,evil wind and deficiency cold of spleen and stomach.Through the analysis of Zhang Zhongjing’s modified,modified and combined prescriptions of Guizhi Decoction,a total of 28 types of prescriptions,it is found that the disease syndromes of the modified prescriptions are also mostly related to the weakness of the spleen and stomach and the deficiency and cold of the constitution,which also reflects its tonic power.By regulating the acquired foundation of the human spleen and stomach and supporting healthy qi to achieve the purpose of treating diseases,it can be seen that it is undoubtedly a tonic agent.Third,Nowadays,Guizhi Decoction is mainly used in 36-59 women.This disease mostly occurs in autumn and is mostly used for internal injury and miscellaneous diseases and gynecological menstrual diseases.Guizhi Decoction syndrome involves10 systems,most of which are respiratory system,digestive system and orthopedic system diseases;Its etiology is mainly exogenous wind cold and chronic physical deficiency;The main clinical manifestations were spontaneous sweating,poor appetite,mental fatigue,white Shaohua face,evil wind cold,light tongue,thin white fur and floating pulse.The commonly used dosage of this prescription is 9-15 g Cinnamon Twig,9-15 g peony,5-10 g roasted licorice,6-10 g ginger and 5-12 jujubes.There are 18 kinds of flavored drugs and 144 kinds of drugs.Among them,the drugs for relieving exterior symptoms(99 times),the drugs for tonifying deficiency(94times),the drugs for warming interior and the drugs for resolving phlegm,relieving cough and asthma(30 times each)were the most.Its flavored drugs are mainly Astragalus membranaceus,Atractylodes macrocephala,Fangfeng,Pueraria,aconite,keel,oyster,angelica,Poria cocos muscle and expelling wind,they also paid more attention to its function of harmonizing Ying and Wei and warming and Tonifying Spleen Yang.Nowadays,in addition to external symptoms,it is more used for internal injuries and miscellaneous diseases and women’s menstrual diseases.It should be treated both internally and externally.We should pay attention to its tonic function.It can be used not only for external symptoms,but also for internal symptoms.
