Objective:This article aims to discuss the clinical efficacy of the residual symptoms of patients with sputum turbidity in the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in the treatment of sputum turbidity, and evaluate the improvement of its efficacy observation indicators and drug safety. Methods:In this study,59 subjects with residual symptoms of phlegm-mediated BPPV who met the inclusion criteria in the outpatient clinic were grouped in a randomized control manner, including 30 patients in the control group and 29 patients in the experimental group.Patients in the experimental group were treated with Maoxuan No.1 decoction dgranules and Betahistine, and patients in the control group were treated with Betahistine alone, and the treatment period was 2 weeks. The degree of dizziness impairment scale(DHI),visual analog scale(VAS)of dizziness, activity balance confidence scale(ABC),TCM evidence score, efficacy of the treatment to reduce dizziness improvement of symptoms and TCM signs were recorded before,1week and 2 weeks of treatment, and possible adverse effects were recorded in detail. All data were analyzed using SPSS26.0 to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Maoxuan No.1 decoction and Betahistine Mesilate Tablets in combination with its safety.Results:1.A total of 59 people were included in this study according to the criteria. Before treatment, the two groups were not statistically significant in terms of gender distribution, age, affected semicircular canals and efficacy indexes(P > 0.05),and were comparable.2.Intra-group comparison: After 2 weeks of treatment, the DHI scale scores(DHI-P,E and F scores),visual analog scale scores(VAS),activity balance confidence scale scores(ABC),total Chinese medicine evidence points and various points of the two groups improved compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05).3.Comparison between groups: After 2 weeks of treatment, the DHI scale scores(DHI-P,E,F),visual analog scale scores(VAS)of vertigo, activity balance confidence scale scores(ABC)of both groups, the total and various scores of TCM symptoms of both groups,as well as the efficacy of vertigo and TCM symptoms of the experimental group improved significantly compared with the control group(P <0.05).4.Both groups had minor adverse reactions during observation, however, after statutory comparison, the rates of adverse reactions in both arms were not found to be statistically significant(P>0.05).5.The recurrence of BPPV in both groups after treatment was followed up within 3 months: the recurrence rate of BPPV in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of the combination of Betahistine with Maoxuan No.1decoction better than that of Betahistine in the treatment of residual symptoms in patients with phlegm-mediated BPPV after successful repositioning, and it improves patients’ confidence in balance, improves their fear and worry about the recurrence of vertigo, and reduces the recurrence rate in the short term.
