Objective The Qingxuan Xingbi method was used to treat children with allergic rhinitis(Allergic Rhinitis,AR)of lung meridian latent heat syndrome. The expression levels of Notch1 and Jagged1 m RNA in children with AR before and after treatment were analyzed, and the mechanism of Notch1-Jagged1 signaling pathway in AR was further clarified.MethodsFrom May 2022 to February 2023,56 children with AR who were treated in the pediatric outpatient department of the People ’s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected. They were divided into traditional Chinese medicine group(group A)and western medicine group(group B)by random number table method, with 28 cases in each group. At the same time,20 healthy children were collected from the pediatric children ’s health room of the People ’s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as healthy control group(group C).Group A was treated with Xingbi Xuanqiao decoction combined with Xingbi gel nasal drops, and group B was treated with oral cetirizine hydrochloride drops combined with mometasone furoate nasal spray, with 4 weeks as a course of treatment. Before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment,4-5ml venous blood was collected from children with AR.The expression levels of Notch1 m RNA and Jagged1 m RNA in peripheral blood of children with AR before and after treatment were detected by real-time PCR.After 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment, the curative effect was evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS),TCM syndrome score table and Pediatric Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(PRQLQ).The symptoms and signs of children with AR before and after treatment were quantitatively scored. The above data were statistically analyzed by SPSS26.0 software.Results1.Expression of Notch1 and Jagged1 m RNA : Compared with before treatment, the expression of Notch1 m RNA and Jagged1 m RNA in group A and group B after treatment was significantly decreased(P < 0.05);the expression levels of Notch1 m RNA and Jagged1 m RNA in group A and group B before treatment were significantly higher than those in group C(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the expression of Notch1 m RNA and Jagged1 m RNA between the two groups after treatment(P > 0.05).2.VAS score : Compared with before treatment, the scores of symptoms and overall symptoms in group A and group B were significantly lower after 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment(P0.05);after 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of sneezing and runny nose in group A were significantly lower than those in group B(P < 0.05),and the overall symptom score in group A was significantly lower than that in group B(P < 0.05).3.TCM syndrome score : Compared with before treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of group A and group B decreased significantly after 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment(P0.05);after 2 weeks of treatment, the cough score of group A was significantly lower than that of group B(P < 0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the cough and sore throat scores of group A were significantly lower than those of group B(P < 0.05).4.PRQLQ score : Compared with before treatment, the scores of A and B groups were significantly decreased after 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment(P0.05);after 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of eye symptoms,non-nasal eye symptoms and behavior in group A were significantly lower than those in group B(P < 0.05).5.Efficacy evaluation : After 2 weeks of treatment, the effective rate of group A was 75.00 %,and that of group B was 71.42 %.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the effective rate of group A was 92.86 %,and that of group B was 89.29 %.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P >0.05).Conclusion(1)Notch1-Jagged1 signaling pathway is involved in the pathogenesis of AR,which may lead to the occurrence of AR by activating the inflammatory response;(2)The Qingxuan Xingbi method may inhibit the inflammatory response and improve the symptoms of sneezing and runny nose by inhibiting the expression of Notch1-Jagged1 signaling pathway;(3)The method of clearing and awakening the nose has a significant effect on AR with latent heat of lung meridian syndrome, which can significantly alleviate the symptoms of sneezing and runny nose in AR children, improve the quality of life of AR children, and improve the daily life, learning and mental health status of AR children.
