| Objective: This study intends to investigate the level of benefit finding in female patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy, and explore the main factors influencing the level of benefit finding of breast cancer patients in the chemotherapy,to provide a theoretical basis for improving the level of benefit finding of breast cancer patients and making clinical intervention measures, then to promote the psychological health of the patients and improve the life quality. Methods: Using the convenience sample way,the breast cancer patients during chemotherapy in the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from December 2021 to October 2022 were selected.General information questionnaire,Chinese Version of Benefit Finding Scale(C-BFS),Dyadic Coping Inventory(DCI)and Short Marital Adjustment Test(MAT)were used to conduct in the investigation.Epi Data3.1 was used to input the questionnaire and establish the database, and SPSS 26.0software was used for statistical analysis.Categorical variables were described by frequency and percentage. If they were normally distributed, continuous variables that conform to the normal distribution were described as the mean and standard deviation;otherwise, they were expressed by the median and quartile.Non-parametric test method(Mann-Whitney U test or Kruskal-Wallis H test)was used to analyze the difference in the score of BFS of breast cancer patients during chemotherapy in the general data;Spearman correlation analysis was used to test the relationships between DCI,MAT and BFS,multiple stepwise linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of benefit finding among patients with breast cancer. The test level of P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant. Results: 1.The M(P25,P75)score of benefit finding score of patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy was 57.00(50.00,70.00).2.The results of one-way ANOVA showed that education level, the existence of religious beliefs, monthly family income, marriageable age, treatment and frequency of chemotherapy had an effect on benefit finding in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy;the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Spearman correlation analysis showed that the total score of dyadic coping, stress communication dimension, supportive coping dimension, delegated coping dimension, common coping dimension, and evaluation of dyadic coping dimension were positively correlated with benefit finding in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy(r=0.397,0.319,0.412,0.356,0.394,0.373,P < 0.01)and negative coping dimension was negatively correlated with benefit finding in breast cancer patients(r=-0.216,P<0.01).The total score of marital quality was positively correlated with benefit finding in breast cancer patients(r=0.314,P<0.01).4.The multiple stepwise linear regression analysis results showed that treatment and supportive coping entered the multiple linear regression equation(P<0.05).Therefore,treatment and supportive coping are the influencing factors of benefit finding in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy.Conclusion:1.Breast cancer patients had a degree of benefit finding during chemotherapy which was at a moderate level and had some room for improvement.2.The patients with religious beliefs and preoperative adjuvant chemotherapy had a higher sense of benefit finding. The patients with primary education or below, family average monthly income < 3000 yuan, age of marriage 11 ~ 20 years and times of chemotherapy 4~6 had lower benefit finding.3.There was a positive relationship between dyadic coping and benefit finding in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy. The higher the degree of positive coping and the lower the degree of negative coping, the higher the benefit finding. There was a positive relationship between marital quality and benefit finding in breast cancer patients during chemotherapy.4.Treatment and supportive coping were the main factors that could affect the benefit finding in patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy.Compared with patients receiving chemotherapy after surgery, breast cancer patients receiving preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy had a higher sense of benefit finding.During chemotherapy, the more supportive coping couples of breast cancer patients take, the higher the sense of benefit finding from the disease. |
