Objective:This study was based on the literature review and theoretical research, and through investigation to understand the current situation of benefit-finding of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, explore influencing factors and analyze the action path of optimism, social support, illness perception, coping style and benefit-finding,so as to provide reference for psychological intervention of IBD patients and improve their quality of life. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method,300 IBD patients who were selected from December 2018 to December 2019 in five tertiary hospitals such as the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Suzhou Municipal Hospital were surveyed using self-designed general information questionnaire,Benefit-Finding Scale(BFS),Revised Life Orientation Test(LOT-R),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Simplified Disease Perception Questionnaire(BIPQ),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),which investigate demographic and clinical data,benefit-finding,optimism,social support, illness perception, and coping styles of patients.SPSS22.0 software and AMOS23.0 software were used to analyze the data,to understand the level of benefit-finding and its influencing factors of IBD patients, and to explore the role of optimism, social support, illness perception and coping style path.Results:1.The total score of IBD benefit-finding was(69.15±17.84)points.The average score of items of each dimension were ranked from highest to lowest:health behavior dimension(3.43±0.95)points,worldview dimension(3.26±0.97)points,family relationship dimension(3.24±1.04)points,personal growth dimension(3.09±0.92)points,acceptance dimension(2.98±0.79)points,and social relationship dimension(2.92±0.75)points.2.The univariate analysis results of the benefit-finding level of IBD patients shew that:different age, education level, religious belief, employment status, disease activity status, and whether nasal feeding had an effect on the level of benefit-finding of IBD patients, the difference was statistically different(P<0.05);The illness perception score was significantly negatively correlated with the benefit-finding level of IBD patients(P<0.01).The positive coping style dimension, optimism scores, total social support scores, and each dimension were significantly positively correlated with the benefit-finding of IBD patients(P<0.01).3.Multivariate stepwise regression results of benefit-finding shew:age(β=0.094,P=0.014),employment(β=-0.121,P=0.002),nasal feeding(β=-0.184,P<0.001),disease activity status(β=-0.097,P=0.013),optimism(β=0.315,P<0.001),social support(β=0.169,P<0.001),illness perception(β=-0.088,P=0.033),positive coping style(β=0.295,P<0.001)entered the final regression equation, and were significant predictors of benefit-finding.4.The results of path analysis shew that the fitting indexes of path analysis were:x~2 df=2.629;GFI=0.993;AGFI=0.948;RMSEA=0.074;NFI=0.984;IFI=0.990;CFI=0.990.Optimism had a direct negative effect on illness perception(β=-0.298,P<0.01),a direct positive effect on positive coping style(β=0.187,P<0.01),and a direct positive effect on benefit-finding was found(β=0.413,P<0.01);Social support had a direct positive effect on positive coping style(β=0.174,P<0.01),and a direct positive effect was found on benefit-finding(β=0.193,P<0.01);Illness perception had a direct negative effect on positive coping style(β=-0.177,P<0.01);Positive coping style had a direct positive effect on benefit-finding(β=0.359,P<0.01).Conclusions:1.The benefit-finding of IBD patients was found at a moderate level and need to be improved.Among them, the average score of healthy behaviors dimension and worldview dimension were higher, and the lowest was social relationship dimension.2.Age,employment status, nasal feeding, disease activity, optimism, social support, illness perception and positive coping style were the influencing factors of IBD patients’benefit-finding.3.Optimism can directly affect the level of benefit-finding,and it can also affect the level of benefit-finding through illness perception and positive coping style;Social support can directly affect the level of benefit-finding,and it can also affect the level of benefit-finding through positive coping style;Illness perception can indirectly affect benefit-finding through positive coping style, which had a negative effect;Positive coping style can directly affect benefit-finding.
