BackgroundDrug therapy is the preferred treatment for Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and medication compliance is an important factor affecting the treatment effect. At present, there is no specific evaluation scale for GERD medication compliance in China, and GERD patients have poor medication compliance. There are many factors that may affect patients’ medication adherence.Purpose1.To introduce and translate the MEDS scale into Chinese, and test its reliability and validity in GERD patients.2.To verify the applicability of the Chinese version of MEDS in assessing the medication compliance of GERD patients, and to explore the related factors affecting medication compliance,so as to provide theoretical basis for future intervention studies.Methods1.Authorized by the original author of the scale, the scale was translated into Chinese and its reliability and validity were tested to form the Chinese version of MEDS.2.From October 1,2020 to June 1,2021,convenience sampling was used to select 410 patients with GERD in a third-class hospital in Guangzhou as the research object. The subjects were investigated with questionnaires, including general information questionnaire,Chinese version of MEDS,Gastroesophageal reflux disease Questionnaire and social support assessment scale. The influencing factors of patients’ medication compliance were analyzed, and the correlation between social support and patients’ medication compliance was explored.Results1.The exploratory factor analysis of the Chinese version of MEDS obtained five common factors, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 79.846%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that x2/df=1.734,goodness of fit index=0.912,comparative fitness index=0.916,Incremental Fit Index=0.918,root mean square of progressive residual=0.059,criterion validity was medium. The total Cronbach’s a of the scale was 0.888,the test-retest reliability was 0.950,the split-half reliability was 0.683,the item-level content validity was 0.830~1.000,and the scale-level content validity index was 0.970..2.The results of multiple linear regression showed that GERD patients with young, low education level, long course of disease,no medical insurance, living in rural area and low social support had worse medication compliance.Conclusion1.The Chinese version of MEDS has good reliability and validity, which can be used to evaluate and measure the medication compliance of GERD patients in China.2.The medication compliance of patients with GERD is moderate. The influential factors affecting the medication compliance of patients include age, education level, course of disease, insurance, residence and social support.Medical staff should comprehensively evaluate the situation of patients and select corresponding specific measures according to the characteristics of patients to improve the medication compliance of patients and encourage family members to participate in the treatment of patients. |
