Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Occipital Neuralgia With Shaoyang Meridian Syndrome With Modified Xiaochaihu Decoction

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaochaihu Decoction combined with Shaoyang Jingzheng,and to explore the ideas and methods of TCM treatment of occipital neuralgia(ON).Methods:Eighty-two patients were included and randomly divided into a treatment group and control group,41 cases each.The control group was treated with the Chinese medicine Zhengtianwan,while the observation group was treated with the addition of Xiao Chai Hu Tang,and the treatment course was 2 weeks in both groups.The Visual Analogue Scale/Score(VAS),TCM symptoms score and Transcranial Doppler velocity measurement(TCD)were recorded before and after treatment,and the indexes of each group were statistically processed using SPSS26.0.Results:One case was shed in the observation group and one case in the control group,and finally 40 patients in the observation group and 40 patients in the control group.Before treatment,17 males and 23 females were included in the observation group,age 43.10±10.54 years,TCM evidence score of 4(3,4),VAS score of 4(2,8.75),transcutaneous Doppler flow velocity measurement of PICA mean flow velocity of 36.68±5.27cm/s,VA mean flow velocity of 41.93±4.79cm/s,BA mean The control group included 19 males and 21 females,aged 42.70±9.58 years,with TCM Evidence Score of 4(2,4)and VAS Score of 3(2,8),and transcutaneous Doppler flow velocity measurements of 37.89±5.73cm/s for PICA,42.80±9.70cm/s for VA,and 9.70cm/s for BA.PICA mean flow velocity was 37.89±5.73cm/s.VA mean flow velocity was 42.80±9.70cm/s,and BA means flow velocity was 46.98±7.45cm/s.All comparisons between the two groups were P>0.05,and the baseline levels were consistent and comparable.The post-treatment TCM evidence score was 0(0,1)in the observation group and 0(0,2)in the control group,the mean post-treatment VAS score was 0(0,0)in the observation group and 0(0,4)in the control group,and the mean post-treatment transcutaneous Doppler flow velocity measurements were 32.31±6.07cm/s in the observation group for PICA,33.69±7.42cm/s for VA,33.69±7.42cm/s for BA s,and the mean blood flow velocity of BA was 37.28±5.62cm/s,while the mean blood flow velocity of PICA in the control group was 35.31±4.09cm/s,the mean blood flow velocity of VA was 37.96±6.62cm/s,and the mean blood flow velocity of BA was 41.23±6.79cm/s.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant at P<0.05.The observation group was better than the control group in reducing the TCM evidence score,VAS score,and reducing the mean blood flow velocity of PICA,VA,and BA measured by transcutaneous Doppler flow velocity,with definite efficacy.Conclusion:Modified Xiaochaihu Decoction has a good curative effect and safety in the treatment of Shaoyang meridian occipital neuralgia,and can effectively improve symptoms.
