| ObjectiveThis study aims to describe the status quo and influencing factors of work stress, selfregulating fatigue, caring behaviors and emotional intelligence of clinical nurses by questionnaire in a tertiary general hospital in Jinan. To explore the relationship between the four variables and the mechanism of self-regulating fatigue and emotional intelligence on the nurses’work stress and caring behaviors. It aims to provide reference for clinical nurses to relieve work stress, enhance nursing care behaviors and improve the quality of nursing service.MethodsThis study is a cross-sectional study.Using stratified cluster sampling, from August to December 2021,the clinical nurses from tertiary general hospital in Jinan,Shandong province were selected as the study objects. The survey tools including general information questionnaire,Chinese Nurses Stressor Scale,Self-Regulatory Fatigue Scale,Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale,Caring Behavior Inventory The date are analysis by SPSS26.0 and Process.ResultsIn this study,a total of 500 questionnaires were sent out and 483 questionnaires were collected with a recovery rate of 96.6%,including 451 effective questionnaires with an effective recovery rate of 93.3%.1.The overall average score of nurses’work stress was(66.91±13.04),and the average score was(1.91±0.37).Among them, the average score of workload and time distribution problems dimension items was the highest, which was(2.19±0.58),and the average score of management and interpersonal problems dimension items was the lowest, which was(1.57±0.42).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that different departments, the nurse gradingand and whether they received humanistic care training were the influencing factors of clinical nurses’ work stress, which jointly explained 11.10%variation of clinical nurses’work stress.2.The overall average score of self-regulation fatigue was(43.26±8.32),and the average score was(2.70±0.52).Among them, the average score of emotional fatigue dimension items was the highest, which was(2.93±0.46),and the average score of cognitive fatigue dimension items was the lowest, which was(2.54±0.71).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that whether they received humanistic care training were the influencing factors of selfregulated fatigue of clinical nurses, which jointly explained 5.90%variation of self-regulated fatigue of clinical nurses.3.The overall average score of emotional intelligence was(59.73±9.21),and the average score was(3.73±0.58).Among them, the average score of self-assessment of mood dimension items was the highest, which was(4.07±0.61),and the average score of self-emotional adjustment dimension items was the lowest, which was(3.60±0.76).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that different departments, the nurse gradingand and whether they received humanistic care training was the influencing factor of emotional intelligence of clinical nurses, which could explain 6.70%variation of emotional intelligence of clinical nurses.4.The overall average score of caring behaviors was(117.49±17.03),and the average score was(4.90±0.71).Among them, the average score of support and guarantee dimension items was the highest, which was(5.15±0.74),and the average score of respect and connection dimension items was the lowest, which was(4.58±0.81).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that different departments, the number of patients receiving regular care, the average number of monthly night shift, and whether they received humanistic care training were the influencing factors of caring behaviors of clinical nurses, which jointly explained 10.20%variation of caring behavior of clinical nurses.5.Pearson correlation analysis showed that nurses’ work stress was positively correlated with self-regulation fatigue(r=0.447,P<0.01).nurses’ work stress and caring behaviors were negatively associated(r=-0.383,P<0.01).nurses’ work stress and emotional intelligence were negatively associated(r=0.403,P<0.01).self-regulation fatigue and caring behaviors were negatively associated(r=-0.406,P<0.01).emotional intelligence and caring behaviors were positively associated(r=0.509,P<0.01).6.Mediating effect analysis showed that self-regulating fatigue played a partial mediating role in the effect of nurses’ work stress on caring behaviors, accounting for 31.25%of the total effect.7.Hierarchical regression analysis showed that the association between nurses’ work stress and caring behaviors was moderated by emotional intelligence.(β=-0.098,P<0.05).When the level of emotional intelligence was higher, the impact of nurses’work stress and caring behaviors was weaker.Conclusions1.Clinical nurses’ work stress in the medium level.Different departments, the nurse gradingand and whether they received humanistic care training are the influencing factors of clinical nurses’work stress.2.Clinical nurses have a certain degree of self-regulation fatigue, which needs to be paid attention to.Whether they received humanistic care training are the influencing factors of selfregulating fatigue of clinical nurses.3.The emotional intelligence level of clinical nurses is in the middle level.Different departments, the nurse gradingand and whether they received humanistic care training is the influencing factors of emotional intelligence of clinical nurses.4.The caring behaviors of clinical nurses is acceptable and needs further implementation.Different departments, the number of patients receiving regular care, the average number of night shifts per month, and whether they received humanistic care training are the influencing factors of caring behavior of clinical nurses.5.There was a correlation between nurses’ work stress,self-regulatory fatigue and caring behaviors in clinical nurses.6.There was a correlation between nurses’ work stress, emotional intelligence and caring behaviors in clinical nurses.7.Self-regulatory fatigue in clinical nurses played a partially mediating role between work stress and caring behaviors.8.The association between work stress and caring behaviors was moderated by emotional intelligence, that is,emotional intelligence can break the link between work stress and caring behaviors. |
