Study On Production Efficiency And Influencing Factors Of Tea Growers In Shuangbai County,Yunnan Province

Shuangbai County is the largest tea producing county in Chuxiong Prefecture,Yunnan Province,and one of the top 100 tea producing counties in China.The tea industry has now become one of the key characteristic industries in Shuangbai County,and will strive to become a tea county with an output value of over 100 million yuan during the 14 th Five Year Plan period,playing an important role in enriching farmers and revitalizing rural areas within the county.However,currently,farmers have poor management,non-standard production techniques,and low production efficiency in the process of tea planting.Based on this,this study takes tea growers in Shuangbai County,Yunnan Province as the research object.By measuring the production efficiency of different scale growers and analyzing the influencing factors of tea production efficiency,the aim is to discover the optimal tea planting scale and the factors that affect tea input-output.Based on farmer behavior theory,scale economy theory and technical efficiency theory,the research divides the survey data of tea growers in Shuangbai County of Yunnan Province into six different scales according to the planting area.Through Data envelopment analysis(DEA)and restricted dependent variable regression(Tobit),the research explores the differences in tea production efficiency under different planting scales and the factors affecting tea growers’ production efficiency,Thus providing reference for improving the production efficiency of tea growers in Shuangbai County,Yunnan Province.The results show that: first,the production efficiency(comprehensive technical efficiency)of 6 kinds of tea growers in Shuangbai County,Yunnan Province are ranked from high to low: 6-10 mu(0.967),1-5 mu(0.956),16-20 mu(0.896),11-15mu(0.882),21-20 mu(0.728)and 50 mu(0.654).The average scale efficiency is0.934,including farmers with planting area of 1-20 mu,and decreasing scale returns of farmers with planting area of more than 20 mu.Second,the fertile degree of tea,whether cooperation with enterprises or organization units,participate in the number of technical training of farmers has a positive effect on tea production efficiency,tea distance from the family and the tea slope has negative influence on farmers tea production efficiency,the level of education,picking the average tea tree,tea tree planting altitude and engaged in tea growers of tea production efficiency is not significant.Based on the research results,it is proposed to scientifically promote moderate scale management of tea fields and optimize the allocation of production factors;Promote the standardization construction of tea gardens and create tea garden demonstration areas;Strengthen support for organizational models and leverage the benefits of interest linkage mechanisms;Strengthen technical training for tea farmers and improve the level of tea planting management;Trial implementation of tea production custody services to assist in the high-quality development of the tea industry and other measures to improve the production efficiency of tea growers in Shuangbai County,Yunnan Province,providing reference for tea farmers and related institutions.
