In recent years,with the continuous development of mobile Internet technology,the consumption of news is no longer limited to a small area.People with mobile phones and computers can access news and information anytime and anywhere.Digital technology is playing an increasingly important role in people's life.Growing up with the rapid development of Internet technology,the young generation has been exposed to mobile media devices at a very young age and has formed the habit of using them.For young people who have just opened their eyes to see the world,news is an important way for them to understand the society and construct their self-cognition,social cognition and political cognition.This study focuses on middle school students aged 14-18,and through in-depth interviews,understands their news use behavior in daily life.This study follows the research path of news users,including daily news reception,production,feedback,discussion and other behaviors into the scope of news use.Meanwhile,it investigates what structural factors have an impact on middle school students' news use behavior.It is found that the subjects still attach more importance to traditional serious news,and their attitude towards news is generally positive.They believe that they need to watch news to increase their perception of the world.However,the purpose of such news use is relatively macro,and it is difficult to play a direct guiding role in their news use.However,the media knowledge of middle school students is very poor,lack of critical thinking about news information;In addition,the independent daily news use behavior of middle school students is highly mixed with the entertainment function of mass media.They mainly consume news passively,which is deeply restricted and regulated by the school.In general,the use of news by middle school students is disciplined for examination-oriented educational purposes and mixed with entertainment purposes.In the highly personalized communication context of media equipment,middle school students do not develop enough self-consciousness in news use.They can only see the limited scenery within the "besieged city" and know little about the world outside the "besieged city".As middle school students are about to enter university or higher vocational education,they are on the eve of entering "adulthood" into society.The findings of this study indicate that the news literacy education of this group should be paid attention to by the whole society.
