Purpose:To explore Professor Zhang Yan’s core drugs, common drug pairs and cluster formulations for the treatment of hyperactivity of liver and Yang in primary hypertension,in order to clarify Professor Zhang Yan’s unique medication rules and summarize Professor Zhang Yan’s academic thoughts on the treatment of this syndrome.Material and method:Acquisition between September 2018 and January 2020,during the open medicinal broth of traditional Chinese medicines by taking Zhang Yan professor treatment of primary hypertension of liver Yang syndrone card effective cases, patients’ gender, age, hypertension grading, past medical history, clinical symptoms, and traditional Chinese medicine prescription information and entry of Excel table, the distribution of the basic information of the statistical and calculate the frequency of the traditional Chinese medicine used frequency,Summarize the nature and taste distribution and efficacy classification of commonly used drugs, conduct association rule modeling analysis for all traditional Chinese medicines and cluster analysis for high-frequency drugs, and draw conclusions.Results:1.Basic information: the basic information of 150 patients was analyzed, and the number of females was more than that of males, and the patients aged 50-59 were the largest age group; In terms of the grade of hypertension, the maximum number of patients with grade 2hypertension was 87;In terms of previous history, the maximum number of patients with coronary heart disease was 37;In terms of clinical symptoms, dizziness was the main manifestation, and insomnia was the second.2.Essential drugs: A total of 150 prescriptions were collected and screened according to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, and 94 TCM medicines were obtained. The total frequency of medication was 2255 times, and 41 medicines were commonly used with frequency greater than 10 times(including 10 times). There were 24 traditional Chinese medicines with frequency greater than 30 times, which were high-frequency drugs.Among them, the frequency of Uncaria,Gastrodia elata,Ligusticum chuanxiong and Radix Puerariae was more than 120 times, which were the core drugs.3.Drug-induced taste: In terms of medicinal properties, cold drugs were used most frequently, followed by plain and warm drugs. In terms of medicinal taste, the most frequent use of sweet calming the liver and reducing wind, drugs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, drugs for clearing heat, drugs for tonifying deficiency and drugs for tranquilizing nerves, among which drugs for calming the liver and reducing wind accounted for the highest proportion.5.The association rule analysis of 94 traditional Chinese medicines was conducted.Based on the promotion degree >1,in the second-order association rules, the support degree of Uncaria rattan → Radix Puerariae,Uncaria rattan → Radix Gastrodia elata was the highest(99.33%),the confidence degree of Uncaria rattan → Radix Gastrodia elata was 95.97%,and the confidence degree of Uncaria rattan → Radix Gastrodia elata was 91.95%.Among the third-order association rules, the support degree of Gastrodia elata + Uncaria uncarina →Radix Puerariae was the highest(95.33%),and the confidence degree was 93.71%.Among the fourth-order association rules, the support degree of Radix Puerariae + Gastrodia elata +Uncaria rattan → Ligusticum chuanxiong was the highest(89.33%),and the confidence degree was 93.28%.6.Cluster analysis was carried out on the first 24 high-frequency drugs, and 7 drug pair were obtained, which were Gastrodia elata and Uncaryophylla,Rehmannia glutinosa and Lilium,Semen cassia and prunella, keel and oyster,Radix Achyranthae and Eugenia ulmoides,Salvia miltiorrhiza and Radix Angelicae Angelica,Radix ulmoides,Cassiae seed,Prunella vulgare,Chrysanthemum chrysanthemum,Scutellaria scutellariae,Cornus officinalis, class 4(nourish blood, tranquilize the mind and reduce the liver): keel, oyster,Radix
