Objective:Guided by the theory of "JinGui" and based on the role of the liver in discharging and storing blood in the generation and operation of tears and the onset of dry eye of VDT,a treatment method of regulating the liver with blood was established to provide a new idea for the treatment of dry eye with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: Sixty patients(120 eyes)with dry eyes of VDT conforming to the standard were included in the prospective case study and randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 30 patients(60 eyes)in each group. The control group received sodium hyaluronate eye drops,1 drop each time,4 times a day.In the treatment group,on the basis of eye drops of sodium hyaluronate, they were given oral modified Xiaoyao powder decoction, one dose a day,and warm in the morning and evening.2 weeks is a course of treatment,a total of 2 courses. After the first and second courses of treatment, the relevant indexes of the two groups were observed.Total symptom score, tear film rupture time(BUT),tear secretion test(SIT),corneal fluorescence staining(FL)score and serum inflammatory cytokine levels were compared between the two groups, and statistical analysis was conducted to evaluate the clinical effect and safety.Result:A total of 60 patients(120 eyes)were included in this study, including 30 patients in the treatment group and 30 patients in the control group.(1)Pre-treatment conditions: there were no significant differences between the two groups in gender, age, eye signs and symptom scores(P>0.05)with comparability.(2)The total effective rate was 90% in the treatment group and 63.3% in the control group.Compared with the total effective rate of the two groups, the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)After treatment, the total score of systemic symptoms in the treatment group and the control group was compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group, the improvement of symptom score in the treatment group was greater than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(4)After treatment,SIT,BUT and FL scores in both groups were improved compared with those before treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.01).The improvement of SIT,BUT and FL scores in the treatment group was better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(5)After treatment, the levels of IL-6,IL-1β and TNF-α in both groups were significantly decreased compared with before treatment(P<0.01).After two courses of treatment, the decrease degree of inflammatory cytokines in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant.(6)There were no abnormalities in the safety indexes before and after treatment between the treatment group and the control group.conclusion:Under the guidance of the theory of "JinGui",the idea of treating xerophthmia with the method of regulating liver with blood was established, and the effect of Xiaoyao powder addition and subtraction on treating VDT dry eye was remarkable. In addition to improving dry eye symptoms,it can also reduce the level of serum inflammatory factors, which explains the mechanism and basis of its action to a certain extent.
