The Study Of The Clinical Effect Of Eightfold Method Of The Sacred Tortoise Acupuncture On The Treatment Of Menstrual Migraine

ObjectiveIn this study,eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture was used to treat menstrual migraine,and the short-term and long-term effects of eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture on menstrual migraine were compared and observed by the ordinary acupuncture group,so as to provide evidence for treating menstrual migraine with eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture.MethodsThere were 66 cases in menstrual migraine patients were chosen from Guangdong Provincial Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine of the Traditional acupuncture Division and the volunteers.The inclusion criteria of those cases in menstrual migraine patients were randomly divided into eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group and the ordinary acupuncture group to 1:1.The first course of treatment beginning is in the last menstrual period day 22 of acupuncture treatment for seven days.The second course of treatment beginning is in the next menstrual period day 22 of acupuncture treatment for seven days.There are 2 periods of treatment in total.The eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group opened point according to the time of visit,chose main point and combine point(SP4 and PC6,GB41 and SJ5,LU7and KI6,SI3 and BL62,4 select one group)according to the matching relation,there were 4 points for acupuncture in total.In the ordinary acupuncture group,acupuncture was performed at bilateral acupuncture points(refer to"acupuncture and moxibustion",the national textbook of"tenth five-year plan" of higher education)(EX-HN5,GB8,GB5,ST8,GB20,SJ5,LR3,GB41,etc.).All the acupuncture points were kept for 30 minutes after obtaining Qi.The needles were manipulated once every 10 minutes.Headache index and quality of life scale were measured before treatment,end of the first menstrual period,end of the second menstrual period and end of the third menstrual period.Efficacy evaluation were measured end of the first menstrual period,end of the second menstrual period and end of the third menstrual period.Results1.A total of 66 patients with headache were included in this study,3 in the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group and 3 in the ordinary acupuncture group,with a loss rate of 9.09%.A total of 60 cases were included in the statistical analysis.2.Baseline comparison:the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group and the ordinary acupuncture group had the same baseline(P>0.05)of general information such as age,headache index and quality of life scale score before treatment.And the two groups were comparable.3.Headache index:Intra-group comparisons were made between the first menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment,the second menstrual period and the first menstrual period,the third menstrual period and the second menstrual period,the third menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment,there were significant differences(P<0.05)in the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group and the ordinary acupuncture group at different periods.In the first menstrual period,the second menstrual period and the third menstrual period,there were significant differences(P<0.05)between two groups of data in different periods.4.Quality of life scale score:There were significant differences(P<0.05)between the first menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment,the second menstrual period and the first menstrual period,in the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group.There was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the third menstrual period and the second menstrual period in the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group.There was significant difference(P<0.05)between the third menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment in the eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture group.There was significant difference(P<0.05)between the first menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment,in the ordinary acupuncture group.There were no significant differences(P>0.05)between the second menstrual period and the first menstrual period,the third menstrual period and the second menstrual period in the ordinary acupuncture group.There was significant difference(P<0.05)between the third menstrual period and the menstrual period before treatment,in the ordinary acupuncture group.There were no significant differences(P>0.05)in the first menstrual period,the second menstrual period and the third menstrual period.5.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated.In the first menstrual period,the second menstrual period and the third menstrual period,there were significantly different(P<0.05)on the clinical efficacy between the two groups at different periods.ConclusionBoth acupunctures could treat and improve the menstrual migraine.And follow up after 1 month of discontinuation of treatment,the curative effect continued although there was a relapse.But eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture is better than ordinary acupuncture in different periods at different periods.Both acupunctures could improve the quality of life of patients wi th menstrual migraine during treatment.And follow up after 1 month of discontinuation of treatment,the quality of life scale score was higher than the menstrual period before treatment although there was a downtrend.Both treatments could improve the quality of life of patients with menstrual migraine in similar.The clinical efficacy of eightfold method of the sacred tortoise acupuncture on menstrual migraine was better than the ordinary acupuncture during treatment and follow up after 1 month of discontinuation of treatment.
