The Impact Of Multi-level Medical Insurance System On The Happiness Of Rural Residents ——An Empirical Study Based On CLDS Survey

Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China’s economy and society have developed rapidly.A nice new life has become the good wish of the people,and the happiness of people has paid more attention by more people.Social stability is the basis of People’s happiness.Improving residents’ well-being is not only the starting point and foothold of the party and the state’ s work in the new era,but also the due meaning of moving forward from the first Centennial goal to the second Centennial goal.Health is an important way to improve happiness.The 19 th National Congress also pointed out the need to make Chinese people healthier and set out requirements for this idea.It requires the state and insurance companies to establish a comprehensive medical insurance system that protects more people and covers more diseases.“Improving health security” is one of the strategic priorities of building a healthy China,and the most important part is to build a perfect multi-level medical insurance system.A sound medical security system can not only effectively improve the health awareness and risk prevention and security awareness of rural residents,but also better solve the problems of public access to medical services,such as registration is difficult and beds are scarce and medical care is expensive and so on.It also can reduce the proportion of people living in poverty due to serious diseases,let people who have been lifted out of poverty will no longer be poor again,and let people’s life become more better,living standard and life satisfaction of rural residents,so that make rural people happier.To understand the relationship between China’s current medical insurance system and rural residents’ happiness,explore heterogeneity and clarify its internal mechanism,this study used data to analysis,and hope to provide suggestions for the better development of all kinds of medical insurance in China and the happiness of rural residents.Using the panel data of China labor force dynamics Survey（CLDS）from 2012 to2018,this paper investigates the impact of the medical security system on the subjective well-being of rural labor force,and explores the heterogeneity and internal mechanism of this impact.In the empirical analysis stage,this paper adopts the individual time double fixed panel fixed effect model,in order to decrease the impact of invisible influencing element’s influence on this data analysis results,so that the data analysis results of this study become more credibility.Research in this paper have found that medical insurance plays a significant positive role in improving the well-being of rural labor force,and the perfect medical security system with commercial medical insurance can improve the subjective well-being of rural labor force to a greater extent.Further analysis shows that the development of multi-level medical security system plays a more significant role in promoting the well-being of middle-aged and elderly groups with higher education,over 45 years old,higher family income,and rural labor force living in the eastern region.Through channel analysis,it is found that all kinds of medical insurance can improve the subjective well-being of rural residents by improving the health level of rural labor force to varying degrees.However,only basic medical insurance can improve the subjective well-being of rural labor force through the channel of out of pocket proportion of medical expenditure.Therefore,the impact of medical insurance on subjective well-being is realized by improving individual health rather than the out of pocket proportion of medical expenditure.The results of this study show that the development of multi-level medical security system is not only an important way to meet the basic needs of rural people and improve the happiness of rural residents,but also an important guarantee for making our countryside better and helping the Chinese people healthier.In order to improve the construction of China’s rural multi-level medical security system,this paper puts forward some suggestions: first,strengthen the publicity of medical insurance in rural areas;Second,promote commercial medical insurance to develop rural market;Third,improve the regional coordination of medical insurance development;Fourth,establish and improve the rural medical service system.
