The National Congress of the People’s Republic of China proposed that "making the people’s life happy is the most important thing in the country",so in recent years,the country has paid more and more attention to the happiness of the people’s life.Happiness,as a subjective expression of people’s quality of life,is not only an important embodiment of the "people-oriented" governance philosophy of the Party and the government,but also one of the essential connotations of the "Chinese Dream".Moreover,on October 25,2016,China began to issue and implement the Outline of Healthy China 2030,which aims to promote the building of a healthy China and continuously improve the health of the people.Therefore,this thesis studies happiness and commercial medical insurance.This paper uses the 2017 China General Social Survey data as the data source,uses the ordered Probit model and propensity score matching method,and aims to explore the relationship between commercial medical insurance and residents’ subjective well-being.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn: 1.The coverage rate of commercial medical insurance is not high nationwide,and the number of people who buy commercial medical insurance in the sample only accounts for 11.7% of the total number of people.2.After taking part in commercial medical insurance,their happiness is significantly improved.According to the matching result of propensity score,the happiness of those who do not take part in commercial medical insurance is8.7% lower than that of those who take part in commercial medical insurance.3.In the study of different groups,it is found that: the purchase of commercial medical insurance by urban population and rural population has a positive effect on the promotion of happiness,but the degree of influence of the two is different.The degree of influence of the purchase of commercial medical insurance by rural population is greater than that of the urban population;The purchase of commercial medical insurance by middle and low income people has an effect on happiness,but not by high income people.According to the research results,this paper finally puts forward policy suggestions at the level of national society,enterprise and individual.
