Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the expression and clinical significance of retinol binding protein-4 in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome.Methods:46 patients diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome in the gynecology department of our hospital from September 2018 to August 2019 were set as the study group. The healthy subjects were set as the control group.Collecting the blood samplesof two groups to detect retinol binding protein-4 detection, blood lipid index, blood glucose index and compare the above-mentioned indexes of the two groups. In addition, the study group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the above-mentioned index levels before and after treatment were compared. Results:The level of retinol binding protein-4,fasting blood glucose,2h postprandial blood glucose, total cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of retinol binding protein-4,fasting blood glucose,2h postprandial blood glucose, total cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in the study group after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:The elevated expression level of retinol binding protein-4 may be a risk factor for the occurrence and progression of the disease in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, and it is closely related to the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism in the patient’s body.
