Objective:This study aimed to observe the changes of serum asprosin in patients with diabetic retinopathy(DR),and to explore the role and significance of asprosin in DR.Methods:Seventy-five patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)who were hospitalized in our department from April 2019 to November 2019 were selected as the experimental group, and 19 cases of healthy control group(NC)from our hospital during the same period were selected as the experimental group. All subjects in the experimental group received diabetic retinal-related fundus examination in ophthalmology.According to the examination results and the international clinical staging standards of DR in 2002,T2 DM patients were divided into 21 patients without diabetic retinopathy(NDR),34 patients with diabetic non-proliferative retinopathy(NPDR),and 20 patients with proliferative retinopathy(PDR).All subjects received fasting blood samples from cubital vein at 8 am for the determination of related biochemical indexes. After centrifugation,1ml of serum was taken from some blood samples and stored in a refrigerator at-70℃ for later use.Serum asprosin levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between asprosin and other indicators. The influencing factors of PDR were analyzed by Logistic regression.Results:(1)Compared with NC group, the levels of FPG,Hb A1 c and asprosin in DM group were significantly increased, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);There were no significant differences in TG,TC,HLD-C,LDL,BMI,SBP and DBP(P=0.336,P=0.631,P=0.136,P=0.344,P=0.461,P=0.088,P=0.596).(2)Compared with non-DR group, age, disease duration,TC,LDL-C,asprosin levels in PDR group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in other indexes(P > 0.05).Compared with the non-DR group, the age and disease duration of the NPDR group were significantly increased(P<0.05);The levels of blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure,BMI,insulin,C-peptide and asprosin were not significantly different(P > 0.05).(3)Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a significant negative correlation between serum asprosin level and C-peptide in DM group(P<0.05);The serum asprosin level of PDR patients was negatively correlated with SBP,Fin and C-peptide(P<0.05).(4)Logistic regression analysis showed that the course of DM was a risk factor for PDR.Conclusion:(1)Serum asprosin level increased in T2 DM patients and further increased in PDR patients compared with non-DR patients.(2)Serum asprosin level in PDR patients was associated with decreased FIN and C-peptide.(3)The course of DM is a risk factor for PDR.
