| Feline infectious peritonitis is a chronic lethal disease caused by Feline Coronavirus. This study collected all confirmed or highly suspected FIP cases from 3 branches of a pet hospital in Nanjing from March 2017 to March 2019.Statistics of case information and observation of pathological changes,in order to discover the epidemiological characteristics of the disease, complex clinical symptoms and characteristic pathological changes.Evaluate the clinical efficacy of GC376.Experiment I Clinical case investigation of feline infectious peritonitisThe results of the case study showed that the clinical incidence of feline infectious peritonitis was about 2.2%,and it was about 8.3%in the cat population under 2 years old. There are morbidity throughout the year, there is a male sex tendency, and there are more cases of cats under 2 years old,and there is genetic susceptibility of purebred cats.Effusive FIP cases are more frequent than non-effusive FIP cases.Clinical symptoms include:fever, swollen abdominal organs, ascites, jaundice, pleural effusion, multifocal neurological signs, uveitis, etc.Abnormal results of laboratory tests include:neutrophilia,mononucleosis,immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, decreased platelet count, hyperglobulinemia, decreased albumin globulin ratio, hyperbilirubinemia and decreased CREA and BUN.Body cavity effusion with high protein level, large numbers of neutrophils and monocytes/macrophages and without bacteria,Neutrophils and monocytes/macrophages are also found in cerebrospinal fluid which is protein-rich.Imaging examination showed abnormalities such as body cavity effusion, mesenteric lymphadenopathy, enlarged kidney, medullary ring sign, and splenomegaly.Experiment Ⅱ Clinical efficacy of GC376 in feline infectious peritonitisAt the beginning of treatment,43/45 of the cases responded well to GC376,the clinical symptoms were quickly relieved,27/45 of the cases eventually recovered to health and remained healthy for half a year without recurrence,5/45 of the cases died, due to disease progression or neurological symptoms,16/45 of cases have recurred neurological symptoms or abdominal lesions.Neurological symptoms occur more frequently in treated cases than in untreated cases, and neurological damage is present in antiviral therapy.Thickening of the ileocecal wall and dysplasia predict poor prognosis.Experiment Ⅲ Analysis of typical case and pathological observation of feline infectious peritonitisThe development of the disease is clinically manifested as a gradual deterioration of symptoms and finally death. The necropsy of cat with effusive FIP can find a large amount of ascites, ileocecal colonic intestinal wall thickening, swelling of mesenteric lymph node and multiple organs, granulomatous serositis and granulomatous lesions.Pathological observation showed abnormalities such as degeneration, necrosis, inflammatory cell infiltration, and lymphocyte proliferation in multiple tissues and organs. |
