With the development of China's innovation-driven development strategy,the promotion of national innovation ability has become an important concern.Nowadays,science and technology are developing faster and faster,the technological life cycle has been shortened,and innovation has become an inexhaustible motive force for the survival and development of enterprises and other social organizations.However,due to the improvement of technological complexity,the difficulty of innovation is increasing,collaborative innovation has become an inevitable choice for enterprises,universities,research institutions and other innovative organizations to enhance their innovative capabilities.In addition,present Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of implementing a regional coordinated development strategy and establishing a more effective regional coordinated development mechanism in the reports of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.Therefore,the research on the coordinated development of the interregional is the focus of research at present and in the future.Collaborative innovation is an important part of the coordinated development of regional economy,especially the industry-university collaborative innovation,which is an important way to integrate knowledge resources of different regions.There are many types of research on the factors affecting the industry-university collaborate innovation in the existing research of industry-university collaborate innovation,and the multidimensional proximity is a research perspective that scholars have paid more attention recently.This paper mainly studies the impact of multidimensional proximity on cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation in China.First of all,search the relevant research literature at home and abroad,find the research breakthrough point,and determine the research advance direction.Then,using cross-regional joint patent data,analyze the cross-regional development of industry-university collaborative innovation network and the present situation of our country from the perspective of knowledge flow,to find the different characteristics of each region in the in the network development process.After that,applicate two methods negative regression and logistic regression to study the effect of multidimensional proximity on China's cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation from two aspects of static and dynamic,which refers to the multidimensional static effects of proximity effect on China's cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation performance,the dynamic influence refers to the influence of multidimensional proximity on the formation and maintenance of the cross-regional cooperative innovation relationship in China.Finally,the conclusion is summed up,the inspiration of the research is drawn and the lack of the research and the future prospect are pointed out.The main conclusions of this paper are:?1?The development process of collaborative innovation in China has obvious phased characteristics,namely,the initial stage before 2000,the growth stage of 2000-2005 years,and the stable development stage after 2006.?2?From the knowledge input and output point of view,cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation performance continues improving,showing the rapid development of the situation from the point to the surface,and there was a significant difference between the regional features.?3?The scale and density of China's cross-regional collaborative innovation network are increasing,and there is obvious knowledge spillover effect in the process of collaborative innovation between regions.?4?The influence of technology proximity on the cross-regional collaborative innovation is inverted U type not only on its performance but also on the formation and maintenance of the innovation relationship.?5?Geographical proximity can significantly enhance the collaborative innovation performance of the cross-regional industry and facilitate the formation and maintenance of the relationship of cross-regional collaborative innovation,but it will not regulate the impact of technological proximity on cross-regional collaborative innovation.?6?Social proximity will not significantly enhance the collaborative innovation performance of the cross-regional industry,but it can promote the formation and maintenance of the synergy innovation in the cross-regional industry,and positively regulate the influence of technological proximity on cross-regional collaborative innovation.?7?The network proximity will not only promote cross-regional production significantly enhance the cooperative innovation performance but also conducive to the production of cross-regional collaborative innovation relationship formed and maintained,and positive regulation effect on adjacent cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation on the formation and maintenance of the network;in addition,the negative regulation on the relationship of geographical proximity and social proximity to the performance is proved.The originalities of the paper are:?1?Focus on the industry-university collaborative innovation from the perspective of cross-regional perspective,and reveal the characteristics and influencing factors of the flow of innovative resources among the provincial administrative regions.Most of the researches on industry-university collaborative innovation start from the individual level of enterprises and universities,but little from the regional level.This study focused on the regional level of university-industry collaborative innovation,and the provincial administrative region as a unit to divide the region,and provides a reference for the innovation of resource flow and transfer in different regions.?2?To explore the impact of multidimensional proximity on inter-regional collaborative innovation,and to explain the direct effect of single proximity and the interaction of multidimensional proximity.The existing researches on the influence of proximity on collaborative innovation mostly start from the perspectives of geographical proximity,social proximity,and technological proximity.This study has joined the dimension of network proximity and expanded along two main lines.On the one hand,explore the moderating effects of other proximities on technological proximity,on the other hand,explore the moderating effects of network proximity on other proximities.The theoretical analysis and empirical results can explain from different angles how the proximity between regions affects inter-regional collaborative innovation.?3?Considering collaborative innovation process and innovation performance,this paper analyzes the static and dynamic dual effects of multidimensional proximities to cross-regional collaborative innovation.The existing researches on the collaborative innovation mostly analyze the influencing factors on innovation performance from the static perspective.Based on this,this study includes the investigation of the formation and maintenance of the dynamic process of industry-university collaborative innovation.The results not only reveal the effects of multidimensional proximities on the cross-regional industry-university collaborative innovation performance but also clarify its impact mechanism on the formation and maintenance of innovation relations,which complements and expands the existing researches.
