With the industrial cluster studies going on,scholars gradually found that firms don't enjoy the benefits of knowledge spillovers equally.Clustered firms have great difference in their innovation performance.At the same time,explore the formation mechanism of cluster innovation performance,whether have great significance for firms to obtain sustainable competitive advantage,or to achieve the transformation and upgrades of industrial clusters.This paper bases on the perspective of proximity,selects organizational and cognitive proximity,and introduces external knowledge acquisition as the intermediary factors,the author puts the analysis level into the industrial cluster,study the individual-level—enterprises.By Referencing the industrial cluster theory,proximity theory,and knowledge-based view,the author explores the process and mechanism of how the clustered firms' innovation performance and what is the differences source.This paper constructs the relational model between cognitive and organizational proximity,external knowledge acquisition and cluster innovation performance,and proposes 7 basic assumptions through theoretical analysis and logical deduction.The author went to Suning and some other cities of hebei province to carry out a large scale questionnaire survey,and 97 valid questionnaires were collected.And by applying statistical methods such as partial least squares(PLS),this dissertation tested the relationships among the variables in the conceptual model and the corresponding hypothesis.Two softwares including SPSS19.0 and Smart PLS3.0 were used to analyze the collected data.According to the empirical testing,this dissertation drawn out 4 conclusions.(1)Organizational and cognitive proximity have a significant role in promoting innovative performance.(2)Organization,cognitive proximity affects the the quantity and quality of external knowledge acquisition.(3)Clustered firm's external knowledge acquisition is a key factor that may influence its innovation performance,and the cluster forms' organization,cognitive proximity can be seen as one favorable way for gaining access to external knowledge,firms may show excellent innovation performance.(4)The external knowledge acquisition can mediate between organization,cognitive proximity and innovation performance.At last,according to the results of empirical analysis,the paper gives the development recommendations from the government and enterprises.In addition,the author pointes out the shortcomings and proposes some future research possibilities and directions in the further.
