Group Work Is Involved In The Research Of Rehabilitation Of Mental Illness In The Hospital

In recent years,the number of mental disorders in China has been increasing.However,public service sectors do not have enough awareness to provide more services despite the proportion of people with mental disorders has increased.At present,the concept of rehabilitation does not match the demand for services in some Psychological Hospital in China.They pay more attention to physiological needs,disease distress and reducing pharmacological effects.They only solve their short-term needs generally,while mental rehabilitation is a long process.Through participatory observation and interviews with convalescent patients in J Psychological Hospital,the author found that they have the need of rehabilitation services and social interaction.What’s more,the relevant social policies of mental rehabilitation services need to be improved urgently.“Art Brights Beautiful Heart” was guided by the theory of energy enhancement and social support,aimed at empowering and enhancing the social communication ability of group members,established a self-management group and organized group activities for 11 times.They have the media of communication and enhance the ability of interpersonal communication.To some extent,the family members have mastered the knowledge and skills of caring for patients with mental illness,which provides more social support for the members.The medical staff are aware of the necessity of group work,which lays a good foundation for the development of group work in the hospital.Through “Art Brights Beautiful Heart” psychiatric rehabilitation group service,the author found that group work played a positive role in promoting the rehabilitation of patients with mental illness.However,there are some limitations in the professional of social workers,high fluidity of service object and weak support of hospital.The author summarized the experience of group work intervention in mental rehabilitation,and put forward relevant suggestions according to the difficulties encountered in the process of intervention.
