It has been an international trend to conduct bibliometric analysis of certain subject using scientific literatures indexed by Science Citation Index(SCI)and Social Science Citation Index(SSCI).The achievements of China's statistics research have been distributed in a variety of journals, which to a great degree can reflect the research status of China's statistics research. Thus, with SCI and SSCI literatures, this paper conducts a bibliometric and knowledge mapping visualization analysis to help understand the research status, development trend, and potential research direction for further prosperity and development of China's statistics research. This paper firstly conducts statistical analysis of the publication and citation counts.Secondly, the statistical analysis of prolific journals, authors, and affiliations are made.Thirdly, the statistical analysis and visualization of the prolific provinces are shown.Fourthly, scientific collaboration analysis among the authors, affiliations, and provinces are visualized by social network analysis. Finally, research hotspots and their evolution are explored by topic modelling, keyword cooccurrence, clustering analysis, and word cloud. Results show that China's statistics research has maintained a stable increasing trend, and has played increasing important role in the world. Both quantity and quality of the literatures of the Fuzzy Sets and Systems by China's statistics researchers are of great significance. The publication counts of most of the provinces have significant increasing trend.Researchers have realized the importance of scientific collaboration increasingly.Comparing with the collaborations among provinces and affiliations, the collaboration among authors is closer.Fuzzy and stochastic are focuses of researchers. The 25 topics identified include Fuzzy control,Biostatistics,Water data analysis, and etc. Keywords cooccurrence and clustering analysis shows that model and regression are main research focuses.19 clusters identified include asymptotic normality, classification, and etc.The keywords evolution analysis shows that model has become more and more important.New emerging hotspots during 2014-2017 include selection, oracle property, partial least squares, and etc.
