At present,the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has had a tremendous impact on society,economy and culture.China attaches great importance to the development of "artificial intelligence +education"s and clearly puts forward"developing intelligent education assistants and establishing an intelligent,fast and comprehensive education analysis system" in the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" issued by the State Council in 2017.The intelligent tutoring system is an innovative application of "artificial intelligence+education" cross-integration,and is also an effective way to promote personalized learning and carry out precise teaching.In recent years,the intelligent tutoring system has developed rapidly,and new achievements have emerged.It is necessary to carry out large-scale,long-span,high-efficiency review and analysis of the field.Therefore,through the intersection of disciplines and the use of bibliometrics,this paper conducts multi-dimensional analysis of research hotspots and development trends in the field of intelligent tutoring systems in the past 20 years.This study is based on the 1996-2018 intelligent tutoring system research papers included in the core database of Web of Science.The bibliometric method is used to study the development history and research basis of the intelligent tutoring system from the three dimensions of document subject information,document citation information and document content information.First,a bibliometric analysis of the subject information.The main body of the literature mainly includes annual publications,countries/regions,research institutions,published journals,and authors of it.Through this analysis,the article finds that the development of the intelligent tutoring system can be divided into three stages:1996-2001,2002-2012 and 2013-2018,this conclusion is used to carry out research in the analysis of the following texts.Secondly,cluster analysis of the citation information.Literature is the result of domain research,and citations are the basis of literature,which are the basis of research.This paper analyzes the citation information of the literature and obtains the knowledge base of the intelligent tutor system research.The article finds that the citation clustering results in 1996-2001 are the four structures of the intelligent tutor system,and the subsequent clustering results are all the refinement of the research foundation of the four major structures.Again,cluster analysis of the literature content information.This paper mainly analyzes the content information of the literature keywords.The keywords are the author's summary of the article,which generally includes information such as research objects and research methods.Clustering analysis of keywords can get the current hotspots of research in intelligent tutor system and the research hotspot changes.This paper finds that the current research hotspots are mainly the diversity of knowledge expression,the judgment of learning styles in learner modeling,the calculation of emotions,the application of virtual reality technology,etc.Future research trends are the fusion of innovation between the emerging information technology and intelligent tutor systems.Finally,summarize and forecast the content of the article.The research results and research deficiencies in this paper are summarized,and the methods of subsequent research directions are explored in the prospect.
