Knowledge transposition and innovation in the realm of academia provide inex-haustible driving force for the development of human civilization and technologicalprogress. With the increasing complexity of discipline system, researchers can identifythe development trends and hot spots only when they know the dynamic across differentdisciplines. Articles reflect developments in certain area, and the citation network of theliterature reflects the composition and succession of scientific knowledge, thus, classi-fication and identification of different roles in the citation network help to discovery themodel of knowledge transposition and draw a clear map of the developments in certainarea, which eventually leads to knowledge innovation.Firstly, this essay discusses social network analysis, citations and citation networkanalysis theories. Then the author shows the relationship between citations and know-ledge transposition, including the role of citations in knowledge transposition activities. This essay construct a citation network of50authors in the subject of competitive intel-ligence, using traditional citation analysis and social network analysis techniques. Then, uses the same method to construct the citation network of19kinds of Chinese corejournals, which is a in-depth research and analysis to identify the role of knowledgetransposition. This study shows that: Peng Jingli, Qiu Junping, Bao Changhuo are in-fluential authors in area of competitive intelligence."China Library Journal,""Journalof Academic Libraries"," Information and knowledge " are journals with high influenti-al factor. The authors are classified into four categories: sources of knowledge, know-ledge exchanger, knowledge transfer within the disciplines and knowledge transfer out-side the disciplines. Groups of journal plays a unique knowledge transfer intermediaryrole, among which subgroup A involves archives, the basic theory of science instru-ments, introduction of domestic and foreign archives dynamic and results exist betweendifferent kind of knowledge. Subgroups A exchanges knowledge with other journals andhas a higher rate of self-citation. Different role of knowledge, sources of knowledge, knowledge exchanger, knowledge transfer within the disciplines and knowledge transferoutside the disciplines, has different influence on knowledge innovation.
