The rapid development of information technology and the breakthrough of time and space restrictions have made the "global village" a reality.At the same time,mass communication,especially the widespread use of new media,cultural integration has become a trend,inherent culture or local memory has been dispelled,the original “sense of place” of some cities is gradually disappearing,and the new city “sense of place” is being constructed.How historical and cultural memory is important to a place is the root of the culture of the wanderer and the spiritual belonging of the group.In the era of thousands of cities and frequent movements of people,people's desire for local culture has been awakened,and people are looking for a home for spiritual well-being.In the new media environment,everyone is an information provider.The construction of "sense of place" is no longer just the task of the official media.The general public and the official media jointly undertake the task of constructing the "sense of place" of their city.From the perspective of communication and media geography,this paper examines the current status and mechanism of mobile short video on the "sense of place" of the city;using the questionnaire survey method to examine the perception of different groups on the "sense of place" of Xi'an city;From the two dimensions of “locality” and “local attachment”,the analysis method analyzes the construction of “sense of place” by mobile short video,and further illustrates the construction of “locality” of mobile short video from symbols such as sound and picture.From the "local memory" narrative and the "location media" function to analyze the media's construction of "local attachment."Through empirical investigation,we will grasp the perception of short-video users on the “sense of place” of Xi'an city.The survey found that groups closer to Xi'an,such as the local citizens of Xi'an and those who have lived in Xi'an,have a stronger sense of “sense of place”,a clearer understanding of “locality” and a stronger “local attachment”.The group intending to go to Xi'an in the near future has a strong sense of "locality" in Xi'an but weaker perception of Xi'an's "local attachment";the group that had stayed in Xi'an for a short time and the group that never intended to go to Xi'an to Xi'an Local perception is not obvious.From the short video viewing frequency,nearly half of the people "almost no" and "rarely" have seen Xi'an related videos on mobile short videos,and half of the people "always" and "always" watch related to Xi'an.The short video;and the higher the frequency of audience viewing,the higher the perception of Xi'an's “sense of place”.The study also found that mobile short videos still have some problems in the construction of "sense of place",such as serious content homogeneity,misconduct,misconduct,false,vulgar and dangerous content prevailing,audience positioning is not allowed,etc.These problems hinder the construction of a benign "sense of place".In order to play the role of mobile short video in mass communication and promote the further construction of urban benign "sense of place ",on the one hand,we must vigorously optimize video content and improve production quality;on the other hand,we must promote excellent culture and improve regulatory measures;The target audience is precisely positioned to scientifically disseminate and distribute local short video content.
