| Founded in Chongqing in 1942,the "United Pictorial" combines journalism,visuality and internationality.It is the purpose of running the "United-Allied countries against Germany,Italy and Japan" and is the propaganda of unity and resistance in the Chinese nation's anti-Japanese war.Weapons are the "watchtower" of the world battlefield in the Second World War.From the founding of the journal in 1942 to the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945,the United Pictorial published a total of 154 issues covering the major battlefields of the Pacific,North Africa,Europe,and China.The use of radio fax and "paper bombs" was creatively used in propaganda.Strategy to spread the pictorial to multiple countries and regions.In the extreme wartime environment,the United Pictorial played the role of "news weapons" and made outstanding contributions to support the war.At the same time,however,the joint report of War Pictures also has certain limitations.Due to the geographical location of the newspaper and the particularity of the founding body,the content of the Joint Pictorial has obvious selectivity and inclination,and the content of the report is emphasized.It highlights the joint anti-war between the frontal battlefields of the country and the allies,neglects the contribution of the Chinese Communist Party and the enemy's backyard in the war of resistance,and fails to achieve true comprehensiveness and objectivity.This article takes the historical texts of the 154 "United Pictorial" published jointly by China,the United Kingdom and the United States from 1942 to 1945 as the research object,taking into account the relevant publications of the same period of the Anti-Japanese War,and examining the content and characteristics of the "United Pictorial" war report in the wartime environment.In the main body,it is divided into four chapters.The first chapter studies the overall situation of "United Pictorial",reveals the background of the era of the pictorial,the purpose of the newspaper and the sales volume.From the text aspect,it examines the layout structure and the characteristics of the newspaper,and emphasizes the birth of the "United Pictorial".The wartime propaganda of the world anti-fascist war is necessary.The second chapter starts with wartime news photography and relies on photographic photos to examine the image narrative of "United Pictorial".The propaganda position is the second battlefield in wartime.Photography has become a powerful weapon in this battle,creating material conditions for the production and dissemination of images.The content analysis results show that the production and dissemination of the "United Pictorial" war image mainly focuses on three aspects: social landscape,theme presentation and image creation.The third chapter examines the mobilization function of the "United Pictorial" war report,which mainly includes the call for unity,the political mobilization of united anti-war,the economic mobilization with human,material and financial resources,and the firm belief,the morale of the Allies,and the disintegration.The mental mobilization of the enemy army."United Pictorial" successfully completed the mission of "saving the country by the news",mobilizing the forces of different nationalities,strata,regions,and countries to the maximum extent,and establishing a strong national defense line and psychological defense in the world anti-fascist war.The fourth chapter analyzes the war memorial report and historical memory construction of "United Pictorial" by using the theory of collective memory.Periodic anniversaries,commemorative words,and commemorative ceremonies are given special epochal significance in the war environment.The commemorative report on historical events,figures,organizations and festivals in the "United Pictorial" solidified from the perspective of media presentation,engraved the memory of the war of resistance,and shaped the historical memory of the public for war. |
