The following dissertation will discuss a possible business model for the reformation of traditional state-owned publishing company by analyze the business operation status of the A publishing house.Through evaluating the operational results and identifying the cause of the problems that the business is facing,this dissertation is trying to give an answer to how the state-owned publisher is going to evolve its operation model.Finally present the idea of “Copyright Agency” and how it's going to be utilized in the publishing industry.This dissertation consist of five chapters.Chapter one is the introduction,which gives the background of the research,a brief review of the research results in resent years,the logical structure and the research methods of this dissertation.Chapter two reviews the current operation model of the A publishing house,which analyzes the unique feature of the operation model of the firm,identify the weakness of the current model and the cause of the weakness.Chapter three is discussing what the A publishing house is needed when adapting the idea of IP operation into its model through applying the SWOT analysis to the business environment of the firm.And present the idea of constructing a copyright agency firm base on what resources the firm currently have.Chapter four focuses the detail of constructing a copyright agency firm.Clarify the purpose,principles that to establish a copyright agency firm,what management structure is like,how its distribution system works,and what client management it requires.Chapter five takes a quick view of the necessary measures to take to ensure the successful implantation of the A publishing house's IP operation by divide the subject into three categories: Structural measures,human-resource measures,and the capital measures.Chapter six is the conclusion,which summarized the viability and the critical points that A publishing house should take care in its constructing new IP operation model.
