People consider Fayan as a master work to research andstudy after it was recognised as a part of Confucianism by Hanshu Yiwenzhi. Reading through Fayan, it is not difficult to find that Confucianism is the mainstream ideology. However, the Taoism also play a very important role. Taking into account the development of the Confucianism in Han dynasty and Xiong Yang's personal experience and social backgound, it's not enough to research ideological character of Fayan by considering confucianism and Taoism unilaterally. Considering the Confucianism, and the Taoism that introduced by Xiong Yang, this paper mainly focus on discussing the ideological character of Fayan through the Taos of Sage, current research and and other historical materials. This paper included five parts, they respectively are:First part is the introduction, which introduce the research purpose and study meaning. It briefly introduce the writter of Fayan, summarise Xiong Yang's personal experience andorganise annotations of Fayan.The second part analyse the ideological origins of Taos of sage in Fayan. It elaborates the main purport of Taos of Sage is ‘Zunshengchongjing' and ‘Lifazhizhi'.Then, considering the decay of Taos of sage after Qing dynasty, it discusses the reason of Xiong Yang emphasise this ideology from Qing dynasty in Fayan.Furthermore, it introduce the conception of sage of representative personage from Confucianism(Confucius &Menci)and Taoism(Lao Tsu & Zhuangzi). It concludes the ideology of Taos of sage is mainly derived from Confucianism but partly comes from Taoism.The third part, the analysis of the "holy worship the respect". To review all to reveal the importance of the classic, the pre-qin Confucian sage on the image of the saint to exalt the pre-qin Confucian sage. And the law said the heaven-man relationship theory and theory of human nature is also on the basis of the "holy worship the respect" which contains the way of the sage. Road of the saint of inheritance by saint of classic is given priority to, so can the profit and loss of saint,he thought about social development is due, or leather.The fourth part, the analysis of the legal rule. Mainly discusses its basic notion of the pre-qin Confucian classics "the ritual" the inheritance and development.
