Clinical Study On Feiyanning For The Treatment Of Cancer-Related Fatigue In Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer And Deficiency Of Both Essence And Qi

Objective: To observe Feiyanning prescription and its separated prescription for cancer-related fatigue in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer and deficiency of both essence and Qi of clinical efficacy,so as to explore the the possible mechanism of Feiyanning prescription on the possible role of cancer-related fatigue in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer,and provide clinical basis for further promotion and application of Feiyanning prescription.Methods:(1)90 cancer-related fatigue in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer and deficiency of both essence and Qi in the second oncology department of Longhua Hospital were randomly divided into three groups : Feiyanning group,Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing,the control group,30 cases in each group.(2)The Feiyanning group was administered Feiyanning Granule for oral intake,Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group was given Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing granule,while the control group took 10% of the dose of simultaneous treatment for 4 weeks.(3)To observe the changes of Piper Fatigue Scale,EORTC QLQ-LC43,Karnofsky,the clinical syndromes of TCM,natural killer cells(NK),T lymphocyte subsets(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+ /CD8+)and the side effects and adverse reactions.Result: Comparison between groups: before and after treatment,the total score difference of PFS scale in Feiyanning group was(14.67±1.36),in Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group was(4.47±0.55),and in control group was(1.70±0.59).After treatment,the fatigue symptoms of Feiyanning group and Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group were alleviated(P<0.05),and the effect of Feiyanning group was more obvious than that of Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group(P<0.05).The quality of life and TCM syndromes of Feiyanning group and Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group were improved in varying degrees(P<0.05).Intra-group comparison: Behavior scores of PFS scale before and after treatment in Feiyanning group were(39.50±0.77),(36.50±0.75),emotional scores were(43.40±1.12),(36.47± 0.73),perception scores were(39.17 ±0.82),(36.63 ± 0.72),and cognitive scores were(39.13 ± 0.83),(36.93 ± 0.67).After treatment,the fatigue symptoms of Feiyanning group were significantly alleviated in the four dimensions of behavior,emotion,perception and cognition(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the fatigue scores of each dimension after treatment between the Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing group and the control group(P>0.05).The scores of somatic function,emotion function and overall quality of life in Feiyanning group were improved(P<0.05).Conclusion: Feiyanning prescription can significantly improve the fatigue symptoms and TCM syndromes and quality of life in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer and deficiency of both essence and Qi.It is worthy of clinical application.Its mechanism of action needs further study.Qi-enriching and Essence-Nourishing and anti-cancer Chinese herbs can benefit patients with deficiency of both essence and Qi.
