Clinical Obersvation Of Yuye Antidiabetic Decoction In The Treatment Of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus With Deficiency Of Qi And Yin

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Yuye Antidiabetic Decoction in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with deficiency of Qi and Yin,and to promote the development of the in-depth study on the treatment of T2 DM by using traditional Chinese medicine.Method 86 cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes with deficiency of Qi and Yin were selected from the outpatient and ward of emergency department in Yongchuan District TCM Hospital of Chongqing from October 2018 to December 2019.According to the method of random number table,86 cases were randomly divided into two groups,including 43 cases in treatment group and 43 cases in control group.Diabetic nutrition education was carried out before admission to ensure good treatment compliance and satisfactory diet and exercise control.The treatment group was treated with Yuye Antidiabetic Decoction on the basis of basic treatment.The control group was treated with metformin on the basis of basic treatment.Both groups were observed for 3 months.TCM syndrome scores,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG),glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were measured before and after treatment.The standard deviation of blood glucose(SDBG),postprandial glucose excursion(PPGE)and largest amplitude of glycemic excursions(LAGE)were observed in the two groups before and after treatment.Meanwhile,the safety of treatment was evaluated.Finally,the statistical method was used to analyze and draw a conclusion.Results 1.TCM curative effect and TCM syndrome scores: With the 3 months treatment,the total effective rate of TCM curative effect in the treatment group was 87.8% and that in the control group was 70%.The total effective rate for the treatment group was superior to that for the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores in the both groups decreased simultaneously(P<0.05)and the TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).2.Plasma glucose: In the posttreatment time,the levels of FPG,2hPG and HbA1 c in the two groups decreased simultaneously(P<0.05)and there was no significant difference in FPG,2hPG and HbA1c(P>0.05)between the two groups.3.Plasma lipid: The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C decreased in the two groups after treatment(P<0.05)and the level of HDLC increased conversely(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in these indicators between the two groups(P>0.05).4.Glucose excursion: After treatment,the levels of SDBG,PPGE and LAGE decreased in the two groups after treatment(P<0.05)and the levels of SDBG,PPGE and LAGE in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).5.Safety: During the 3 months of treatment,there was no hypoglycemia in the two groups’ patients.After treatment,no abnormalities were found in blood and liver function tests for the two groups.Conclusion Yuye Antidiabetic Decoction can obviously improve the clinical symptoms of the newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients with the deficiency of Qi and Yin and improve the indexes of glucose and lipid metabolism.Yuye Antidiabetic Decoction can also reduce the blood glucose excursion with a high safety.
