Background and purpose: Epilepsy is the most common disease of nervous system except cerebrovascular disease.Chronic and recurrent seizures not only cause serious damage to the patient's physical and cognitive functions, but also seriously affect the patient's quality of life.In recent years, studies on quality of life of people with epilepsy(PWE)have been reported at home and abroad, and more attention has been paid to how to improve the quality of life of patients. The quality of life of people with epilepsy is affected by many factors, including chronic course of illness, poor seizure control, stigma, comorbidities, social isolation, and side effects of antiepileptic drugs(AEDs).Many domestic and foreign studies have shown that depression and anxiety were significantly correlated with quality of life in people with epilepsy, depression was an independent risk factor for quality of life.Good social support can improve their poor psychological state and improve their quality of life. Therefore, this paper studies the correlation between social support, anxiety, depression and patients' quality of life, and analyzes the influencing factors of quality of life,so as to guide patients to improve their quality of life. Methods: Seventy-three cases were consecutively collected from the outpatient clinic and ward, and fifty normal cases were included as control group. All patients completed General information questionnaire,Quality of life in Epilepsy Inventory-31(QOLIE-31),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression scale(HAMD)and the scores of all scales were counted and analyzed.Results:(1)Compared with the control group, the scores of each item in the Quality of life in Epilepsy Inventory-31(QOLIE-31)were lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).(2)The scores of objective support, subjective support and total support in the epilepsy group were lower than that in the control group, and the scores of depression scale and anxiety scale were higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(p<0.05).(3)Age of onset, etiology and type of onset were not significantly correlated with the scores of each item in the QOLIE-31(p>0.05).Age was negatively correlated with the scores of seizure worry and overall quality of life in the QOLIE-31.Academic degree was positively correlated with the scores of cognitive function and total scores in the QOLIE-31.Marital status and the scores of overall quality of life in the QOLIE-31,gender and the scores of cognitive function in the QOLIE-31,course of illness and the scores of cognitive function in the QOLIE-31,seizure frequency and the scores of social function in the QOLIE-31 were negatively correlated. The quantity of medication was negatively correlated with the scores of emotional health, cognitive function, medication effects, social function and total scores in the QOLIE-31.Seizure control was positively correlated with the scores of social function in the QOLIE-31.The scores of depression scale were negatively correlated with the scores of each item in the QOLIE-31.The scores of anxiety scale were negatively correlated with the scores of emotional health and total score in the QOLIE-31.The scores of subjective support were positively correlated with the scores of emotional health, energy, cognitive function and total scores in the QOLIE-31.The scores of objective support were positively correlated with the total scores in the QOLIE-31.The scores of total support were positively correlated with the scores of emotional health, energy, cognitive function and total scores in the QOLIE-31(p<0.05).(4)Multiple stepwise linear regression analysis showed that the scores of depression scale and total support were predictors of total scores in the QOLIE-31.Conclusion: Depression and anxiety were common in people with epilpsy, along with low social support,so the quality of their life was poor. The early psychological intervention, enough support and help are indispensable for people with epilpsy in order to improve the quality of life.
