Study Object:In this study, the parents of children aged from0to6with cerebral palsy, mentalretardation, hearing impairments, autism were studied. By studying the emotionproblems of their parents, such as anxiety, symptom of depression, the way of socialsupport that the disabled children’s parent get, we had an understanding of thecomprehensive living quality condition of the disabled children’s parents, analyzedthe factors that affect the living quality of the disabled children’s parents and leadthem into a right way, hoping to improve the live quality of the disabled children’sparents and to let them involve in the children’s rehabilitation with a relaxedmentality, all of which can improve the effect of disabled children’s rehabilitation.Study Methods:(1) Objects: Planed to investigate160parents whose children are disabled. Most ofthem are those who come to Bei Jing City Disabled Children’s Rehabilitation ServiceCenter for rehabilitation training for their children with cerebral palsy, mental,hearing and autism disease including parents of children with cerebral palsy,intelligence, listening and autism.(2) Questionnaires Methods: Using the general case investigation questionnaire toinvestigate the general situation of the children and their parents; Using HospitalAnxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) to measure the anxiety and depression of theparents; Using Social Support Rating Scale to get an understanding of the disabledchildren’s parents’ social support level from the perspectives of subjective support,objective support and utilization of social support; Using SF-36scale to measure thelife quality of the people who were invested.(3) Statistical analysis: Establishing a database with Epidate3.1software, usingSPSS16.0statistical software for data processing. Using analysis of variance,bivariate correlation analysis for data analysis and processing, test level α=0.05.Results:(1)160disabled children were invested in this research,47of them suffer from hearing impairment,37cerebral Palsy,25mental retardation and51autism;160parents were invested, including23fathers,126mothers and11other foster person.Education background:87of them have university or junior college degree,37ofthem have high school diploma,28of them have junior high school diploma,8ofthem have primary diploma or are illiterate.(2) The surveyed people’s anxiety and depression average scores are12.52±4.11and13.33±4.30respectively. According to the evaluation scale standard, the investigationresults indicate that there are42children who suffering serious anxiety anddepression, accounting for26.25%of the total number;38children who sufferingmediate anxiety and depression, accounting for23.75%of the total number; and only11of them are normal.(3) Social support scale average score is35.28±7.40, in this scale, subjectivesupport, objective support and the support utilization degree scores were21.03±4.96,7.08±2.78,7.17±1.6; compared to the normal population, these projects arerelatively low.(4) The differences of different types of parents are of statistical significance. UsingLSD, the results of the table were compared by pairs, the PCS (Physical ConditionScale) among cerebral palsy and mental retardation, hearing impairment, autism areof statistical significance; the MCS (Mental Condition Scale) between cerebral palsyand hearing impairment children are of statistical significance. Among the8dimensions, SF (Social Function) score is the highest, while RE score is the lowestand PCS (Physical Condition Scale) average score is63.53±21.01. Each dimensionscores were lower than the normal population, especially mental health overall (MCS)in the role emotion (RE).(5) The eight dimensions: anxiety, depression and quality of life of parents of childrenwith disabilities in the physiological function (PF), role of physics (RP), body pain(BP), general health (GH), viality (VT), social functioning (SF), role of emotion (RE),the presence of mental health (MH) are negatively correlated, the test proved thatthey are of statistical significance (p0.01)。(6) Subjective support, objective support and PCS are correlated (p0.01), Subjective support, objective support and MCS are also correlated (p0.01),theutilization rate and correlation between MCS are of statistical significance (p0.05).Conclusion:(1)The quality of life disabled children’s parents are low in general.(2)The factors that affect disabled children’s parents are: types of disability, anxietydepression and social support. Children with cerebral palsy, parents with anxietydepression emotion and low social support live in a lower life quality.Suggestions:(1) Family should use multiple methods to relief anxiety depression emotion, enhancesupport, improve family quality of life, so that they can involve in the rehabilitationwork with a relaxed mentality.(2) Rehabilitation institution should have a better communication with disabledchildren’s parents, carry out proper rehabilitation training and improve rehabilitationskills.(3) Country and society should give more investment and support to the disabledchildren by giving financial compensation to disabled children’s family; improvesocial support to disabled children’s family by government propaganda; give somepreferential policies to rehabilitation institutions and introduce advanced equipmentsand excellent talents to achieve better results.
