Objective It is to observe the clinical effect of treating chronic urticaria in blood deficiency and wind dryness type with self-blood acupoint injection therapy combined with acupoint application therapy.Method Sixty-four patients with chronic urticaria in blood deficiency and wind dryness type who were randomly divided into the comprehensive group and the western medicine group according to the random number table(32 cases for each group). The comprehensive group was treated with self-blood acupoint injection therapy combined with acupoint application therapy, while the western medicine group was treated with ebastin. The experiment period was 6 weeks. The data, including Urticaria Activity Score(UAS),total score of urticaria symptoms,Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI),and serum IgE level was recorded before and after treatment, which was analyzed by SPSS19.0 software to assess the different therapeutic effects of each treatment.Patients who had recovered and shown improvement were followed up 1 month after the end of treatment to estimate the recurrence rate.Results1.Comparison of Urticaria Activity Score(UAS): After treatment, the Urticaria Activity Score in both the comprehensive group and the western medicine group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05).The difference of the Urticaria Activity Score before and after treatment in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.Urticaria symptom total score comparison: After treatment, the total score of urticaria symptoms in both the comprehensive group and the western medicine group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05).The difference of the urticaria symptom total score before and after treatment in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.DLQI comparison: After treatment, the Dermatology Life Quality Index in both the comprehensive group and the western medicine group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05).The difference of DLQI before and after treatment in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).4.Comparison of serum IgE level: After treatment, the serum IgE level in both the comprehensive group and the western medicine group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05).The difference of serum IgE level before and after treatment in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).5.Clinical efficacy analysis: The total curative effect in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group, and the difference was statistically insignificant(P > 0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the markedly effective rate between the comprehensive group and the western medicine group(P < 0.05).6.Analysis of recurrence rate: One month after the end of treatment, the patients who had recovered and shown improvement were followed up.By reassessing UAS,there was a statistically significant difference in the recurrence rate between the comprehensive group and the western medicine group(18.18% in the comprehensive group and 57.14% in the western medicine group)(P < 0.05).7.Adverse event analysis: The incidence of adverse reactions in the comprehensive group was compared with that in the western medicine group(both 3.33%),and the difference was statistically insignificant(P > 0.05).Conclusions1.Self-blood acupoint injection therapy combined with acupoint application therapy and ebastin both can improve the clinical symptoms, serum IgE level, and quality of life of chronic urticaria in blood deficiency and dryness type.However,self-blood acupoint injection therapy combined with acupoint application therapy is superior to ebastin in improving clinical symptoms, quality of life, and lowering serum IgE level.2.Self-blood acupoint injection therapy combined with acupoint application therapy treat chronic urticaria in blood deficiency and wind dryness type which can better reduce the recurrence rate, and have high safety.
