The Study On The Current Situation Of Workplace Violence And The Influencing Factors For The Doctor In 3A Grade Hospital Of Shanxi Province

ObjectiveBased on the questionnaire of workplace violence of medical staff,we can investigate the basic situation of medical violence of doctors for 15 3A grade hospitals in Shanxi Province,understand the current situation and characteristics of medical violence,analysis the influencing factors of medical violence combined with the general information of doctors,according to the existing literature,we can put forward some measures or suggestions to ensure the personal safety of doctors and maintain the normal medical order,improve the medical level and quality,protect the patients' legitimate rights and interests,and prevent the social harmony and stability provide a theoretical basis.These suggestions can serve as theoretical basis to deal with the workplace violence.Methods(1)Literature analysis.This survey want to understand the current situation of workplace violence in various regions,and regulate some important literature to determine research ideas,so we retrieve some keywords about in many data bases,for example PubMed,ProQuest,Wanfang database,CNKI and so on.(2)Questionnaire survey.Based on Chen Zuhui Hospital Workplace Violence Questionnaire as a template,and according to the actual situation of the survey,the questionnaire was designed and revised to investigate the situation of violence suffered by doctors in 15 tertiary hospitals in 10prefecture-level city of Shanxi Province.The questionnaire includes four parts: general information of doctors,basic situation of medical violence,doctors' cognitive status and the measures of dealing with violence.(3)Statistical analysis.This survey used the Epidata 3.1 and SPSS20.0 software to collate and analyze data.Results(1)In this survey,the incidence of violence about the doctors' workplace was 61.19%.Language violence was the main type and accounting for 60.13%;Male doctor are the main group who suffer violence;doctors suffer more violence between the 30 and 40 age;The violence occurs mainly in the day shift,which accounts for 65.22%,mostly in the doctor's office(43.63%)and the incidence of violence among emergency doctors is the highest(87.36%).(2)Doctors are often subjected to violence when they were doing the routine treatment.Most of the perpetrators are male,accounting for 77.78%,the perpetrators are mostly 30-40 years old.,and most of them are family members of patients,accounting for 70.35%.The patients or family members of patients carrying out violence due to they are not satisfied with the doctor's treatment or operation plan,and fail to achieve the desired results.(3)In the univariate analysis of workplace violence,gender,age,length of service,job title,employment form and department have statistical significance.In the regression analysis,monthly income,whether to carry out relevant training,fixed seats in waiting area,lighting in night working area,whether to encourage timely reporting,and whether WPV handles effectively are the final variables.ConclusionsThe doctors have a high proportion of threat in this survey.The influence factors of workplace violence mainly have the medical technology,the work experience of doctor,the communication skills,educational background and others.The reasons of workplace violence for patients or family members have the medical environment,waiting time,the treatment effect,patient's family background,doctor's working attitude and patients' or family members' questioning about doctors;In departments,because of the particularity of emergency department,which leads to a high incidence of violence;Before and after the occurrence of medical violence,hospitals lack corresponding for security measures,such as camera settings,regular patrols of the security,timely evacuation channels,etc.Doctors are often more passive when they are coping with violence.They dealing with violence by patiently explaining and tolerating avoidance,these often cause an escalation of violence,and then doctors also produce psychological shadow and bad psychological damage because of violence,however hospitals lackthe attention to doctors' mental health,which eventually forms a vicious circle.Therefore,it is imperative to establish a harmonious and stable medical environment.At the same time,it requires the joint efforts of hospitals,doctors and patients,society,media and government departments.
